I'm extremely unhappy with the resume and cover letter I received from this company. The resume had typos—two of them! And I had already applied for some jobs with a typo-ridden resume. The cover letter was AI-generated, yet Rita still made a mistake by repeating the same content for two different positions. The cover letter sounded so boring and machine-made that I'm going to throw it in the trash. The layout is extremely outdated. Do not waste your precious money and time with this company! They will go down the drain.

Lack of professionalism - very disappointed!
I was very disappointed with the service offered by Resume Writing Group. The resume Ryan provided was poorly designed, with cramped text and excessive blocks of capital and bold letters that gave the impression of shouting at the reader. Furthermore, their e-resume service merely provides a link to the document and does not retain updated versions of the file. Not only did they fail to deliver a quality resume, but their cover and thank you letters were almost a replica of each other riddled with lengthy lists of core competencies already listed on my resume. It lacked overall professionalism. They simply took huge sections of the cover letter and pasted it into the thank you letter. It was evident that they lacked expertise in crafting effective job application letters.
Additionally, I find their pricing exorbitant for the subpar service provided. Despite providing feedback and suggestions, they seemed unwilling to listen or make necessary revisions. On one occasion I had to send three messages asking for one simple change to be done. This change was only done on my third email, four days later. This I found to be a little unprofessional and a rather slow process.
Overall, I would not recommend Resume Writing Group to anyone seeking professional resume writing assistance.

We were sorry to hear that this client was disappointed with the service. We offer free unlimited revisions for 30 days, and we did revise this client's resume per her opinion on how she wanted it to look. Unfortunately, there are some inaccuracies in her review that we would like to address:
-It's very important to include bold font and lots of contrast in resumes. Failure to do results in a bland and boring document that is not likely to catch the attention of employers. We tried to advise the client of this, but she was insistent that we didn't know what we were doing even though we have been crafting professional resumes for 20+ years and average a 98.4% success rate for getting our clients hired. Regardless, we revised the resume according to her specifications.
- Yes, our e-resume needs to be updated if changes to the resume are made. It seems obvious that if you make changes to your physical resume that you would then also need to make changes to the e-resume.
- There are no incomplete or grammatically incorrect sentences in any of the documents we provided to the client. Not one. We repeatedly advised the client of this. Please keep in mind that the writer on this project has two Master's Degrees in English. She is more than qualified to write a complete sentence.
- Nothing was copied between the cover letter and the thank-you letter, with the exception that some areas do need to be the same because they are supposed to specifically address the client's expertise. It would look strange to an employer to submit one set of expertise on a cover letter and then a completely different set of expertise on a thank-you letter.
- We spoke with the client multiple times, made several revisions according to her suggestions, and we went out of our way to try and address her concerns.
If you want a resume that is significantly stronger than what you have currently and a team dedicated to personally assisting you, we're happy to help. We offer 24/7 service, use entirely in-house, USA-based writers, and we include free unlimited revisions for 30 days.

Unauthorized Charge a Year Later
I used Resume Writing Group on 3/16/23. I was reviewing my bank transactions and this company charged my $39.95 today... A YEAR LATER! If you use this company, delete your billing information or they will charge you without authorization.
Response from Resume Writing GroupMar 8, 2024
When this customer placed her order, she specifically signed up for our annual subscription that renews once per year for $39.95. This was marked on her receipt, marked on her order, and communicated to her in multiple follow-up emails. We even sent her TWO reminder emails prior to the renewal letting her know that if she didn't want to renew, all she had to do was click the link in the email to cancel it.
Rather than cancelling the service or bothering to reach out to us at all. She instead waited until after the charge processed and then reached out to us to demand a refund. We immediately told her we could cancel and REFUND the entire $39.95, even though we had provided the service for an entire year for her.
I don't believe there is anything more we could have done. If you purposely select a service that tells you it's an annual subscription, ignore all of the reminder emails about the subscription, and then still get angry enough to leave a one-star review after we immediately cancel and refund the charge, I don't know how else you can be assisted.

Do your research before make a decision
The resume writer never ask me questions at all to start writing my resume. They never asked me what is my goal, what type of job I'm looking to apply, they only used my old resume and reworded it. As a result, it is not a thoughtful resume, it's just a reworded from existing one.
When I purchased the service, the refund policy that I saw only said that if I didn't get hired within 40 days, they will refund. In fact when I asked them for a refund, they sent me a set of long requirements (I include it below) that is never shown to me before.
The following is their refund requirements (that is emailed to me after I request for a refund):
"Please remember that our offer and revision is valid, as per our terms of sale, if the following conditions are met:
1. You are UNEMPLOYED and are not currently paying ANY state, province or Federal taxes. (Working in ANY position--even if it's one you held prior to receiving your new resume -- voids our offer).
2. You provide verifiable certified mail and/or fax receipts for at least 40 resume mailings/faxes submitted over the course of the FIRST?45 DAYS of receipt of resume WITHIN no later than 90 DAYS from receipt of your resume as stated in the guarantee terms.
3. At our discretion, an investigator may request additional information".
See that? They required so many steps in order for you to get refund. in other words, they not really want to give you a refund.
My recommendation is: Stay away with this company if you don't want to be disappointed.

Un-usable, had to rewrite the entire thing myself
They took my resume I sent and just changed a few verbs and then added 2 repetitive sections that repeated the info already on my resume. The format was extremely outdated, there were numerous errors and repetitive bullet points and it was unnecessarily long. It sounded like they just refreshed my resume with an AI tool. When I asked for a revision, they cut out half of my job experience. I spent 6 hours redoing my resume, total waste of money.

Our team at Resume Writing Group puts a lot of effort and passion into every resume we write. Unfortunately, this customer was determined to be unsatisfied from the very beginning and refused all of our efforts to help her.
Every resume we write includes free unlimited revisions for 30 days. The customer refused this offer for additional assistance. Even worse, she hasn't even tried using the resume we created for her.
The format we created for her is not outdated. It was designed to help her get past ATS. Our team advised her on multiple occasions that the resume has to be compliant with ATS (Applicant Tracking Software) or it won't get any responses from employers.
When we created a first draft for the client, it was two pages long. This was because the client's work experience required it to be two pages to fit all of the information comfortably. We advised the client that if she wanted a one-page resume, it would require removing some of her experience to make everything fit in a format that is actually readable. The client continued to insist that we cut the resume down to one page despite our advice. So, we cut the resume down to one page and then she immediately told us that we shouldn't have eliminated some of her work experience. As we previously advised the client, it was not possible to fit 10+ years of experience on a single page.
There was not a single error in the resume that we prepared for the client. Multiple members of our team with over 40 years of combined experience crafting professional resumes reviewed the resume we created for her - not one error. On top of this, here is a list of the actual errors from the client's original resume that we fixed:
-Missing punctuation
-Incorrect use of tense
-Passive sentence construction
-Dates listed incorrectly
-Orphaned words
-Outdated double-column layout that wasn't compliant with ATS
-Wasted page space
-Contact info listed incorrectly
In total, we corrected over 50 issues with the client's original resume. We even offer a 45-day money-back guarantee to which the customer refused to take part in. I'm not sure how else we could have helped this person.
If your goal is to get a great resume that actually works, our team at Resume Writing Group has been crafting resumes for over 20 years and averages a 98.4% success rate for getting our clients hired. If you actually want to get hired, we're here to help!

I WAS NOT PLEASED AND NOT HAPPY WITH…
I WAS NOT PLEASED AND NOT HAPPY WITH THE COMPLETED RESUME. THE COMMUNICATION WITH WRITER WAS HORRIBLE.
Response from Resume Writing GroupJan 17, 2024
At Resume Writing Group, customer service and communication are our top priorities. That's why we offer phone, email, live chat, and ticket communication with all of our customers. I'm not sure there is another company in the industry that comes anywhere close to our level of communication.
In this situation, the client did a 30-minute phone consultation with his writer. The writer who worked on his project has more than 20 years of experience crafting professional resumes. She fixed dozens of grammatical, formatting, and styling issues with the client's original resume. She also ensured the new resume was ATS-compliant. He also spent a significant amount of time on the phone discussing his project with our client services manager.
After receiving the new resume, the client was offered free unlimited revisions for 30 days if he wanted anything changed. To this date, he has not asked us for any changes, so we don't understand why he is now stating the communication is horrible and he doesn't like his resume if he wasn't even willing to reach out to let us know what he didn't like.
Our promise to all of our clients remains the same:
1. Free unlimited revisions if you want anything changed
2. Unlimited communication with a USA-based, in-house writer with extensive experience
3. 45-Day Money-Back Guarantee if you're not hired using the new resume
If this client wants to take advantage of our 30-day revision policy, he is certainly welcome to do so.

Continue your search for resume writing services
I reached out and paid for services with Resume Writing Group back in the fall of 2021. I decided to go with this company because, at the time, they offered “satisfaction/money back” guarantee and they were reasonably priced. After receiving the first draft of my resume, I was shocked and disappointed by the number of grammatical errors and lackluster appeal. I reached out for a revision. The writer returned my resume with 1 or 2 adjustments.
Sadly, I was displeased with both resume options produced, however, I decided to be patient and utilize the final draft during my job search. That was a waste. Thank God I was not unemployed at the time of my job search because the resume they provided grabbed the attention of no one.
I decided to reach out to Resume Writing Group with my concerns. Ideally I would’ve liked my money back, but I understood time had passed (while trying to give their resume a chance) and it wasn’t likely I’d receive a refund. I was willing to settle for another revision. After reaching out, I felt their response was dismissive, lacked a reasonable solution, and my reality was I no longer had faith in their ability to produce a quality resume for anyone other than a high school or college student. I’ve since sought the services of a different company and fortunately received a better quality resume.
My advice would be to proceed with caution. If you’re expecting a resume with a “Wow” factor, this is not the company to go with

Our team at Resume Writing Group has been successfully crafting resumes for over 20+ years, and we average a 98.4% success rate for getting our clients hired. Although we try to make sure everyone has a great experience with 24/7 customer service via phone, live chat, and email, it is not always possible to please every customer.
In this instance, the customer ordered our services two years ago. She asked for one small change to the resume, which we promptly made for her. We then didn't hear from her for eight+ months. Our money-back guarantee must be claimed within 90 days, which we feel is already pretty generous. In certain instances, we're willing to make an exception, but we can't extend the guarantee forever.
After reviewing the resume our writer put together for the client, we're even more confused by the client's dissatisfaction. We fixed dozens of grammatical errors on her original resume, completely rewrote all of her content, developed a new ATS-compliant format, and ensured the resume met all modern standards.
At the end of the day, we're the only company that offers a money-back guarantee, free unlimited revisions for 30 days, and entirely in-house, USA-based writers. Our team has successfully helped over 150,000 people get hired; and we do our best to help every client.

Please save yourself the time
Please save yourself the time, energy and money. While attempting to be kind, and hold courtesy for the resume writer as the website indicates. I did not find all my information was loaded within the way that was necessary, the format for the type of resume that I specifically was asking for assistance with came back in a document that was not ATS driven but my master resume copy and pasted with specific information pasted in. The cover letter was helpful. The engagement team that is apart of the organization that I am working is reviewing resume; I am not sure if by asking for the resume to be reworked once if the resume may be refunded. However, at this point I am not satisfied with what I purchased. Please save your time, and potentially money.

Based off of the response below, I'd like to clarify a few things. The resume was updated once. I have had it revised 8 times myself. I have received no new emails despite reaching out numerous times. I have only received a notice from trust pilot. I do not trust resumewritinggroup.com based upon these practices.

We were disappointed to read this customer's review given that we went out of our way to help her with her Federal Government resume project and provided a significantly improved resume for her.
The customer has only had her resume for two weeks, our money-back guarantee stipulates you have to try getting hired for at least 45 days because Federal agencies are required to review applications for a minimum of 30 days before making a decision about who to hire. We have followed up with the client and advised her that she needs to give it the minimum amount of time before requesting a refund.
We were also surprised to read this review because the customer reached out to our team and specifically told us how much she liked the new resume and approved the final draft, so we do not understand why she is no longer satisfied. If there is something the customer wants changed, we offer free unlimited revisions for 30 days, so she is welcome to reach out to us anytime and request a change if there is something she doesn't like...
I personally took the time, along with one of my senior writers, to compare the resume we wrote to the customer's original resume; not only did our team fix over 50 separate grammatical errors, we also fixed issues with styling, formatting, missing keywords, and improper sentence structure. The errors we fixed on the customer's original resume included incorrect use of tense, missing punctuation, incorrect capitalization, fragmented sentences, incorrect conjugation, run-on sentences, and passive sentence construction.
Based on our extraordinarily thorough writing process, we were able to make improvements to the customer's resume that will help her every time she applies for a position.
Again, if there is something the customer doesn't like, she is welcome to reach out for a free revision anytime.

Copy and paste of an email we sent to the client 20 days ago advising her she could ask for revisions at any time:
"Hi Tori,
We're happy to make adjustments for you at no additional cost. Please login to your account when you have time and click on the Contact Your Writer button. From there, please let your writer know about anything you don't like. However, please note that the Federal Government does require us to use a specific layout for the information.

We have now sent the customer another email advising her that she is welcome to ask for changes and letting her know she does need to wait at least 45 days for our guarantee. I'm not sure how we could provide better service than offering to make changes for free, repeatedly following up with the customer (even outside of normal business hours and on weekends), and asking multiple times what we can do to help.
