Over 18 months ago, we met a couple - who in the course of our conversation - advised us that they were celebrating the liquidation of their timeshare. We had tried to do the same over the years but were scammed twice. So, we asked, "Who helped you get out of your timeshare situation?" Their response, "Resort Closings in Bozeman, MT." We hemmed and hawed for several months; then we made "the call". Liz Rooley was the agent who took us through the process, (a deeded week). We paid nothing up front!!!; and we were given an explicit description and schedule of payments to expect. All payments were based on "something for something"; we didn't pay anything until each step in the process was completed. In 5 months we no longer had the deeded timeshare. We waited a few months, and decided to liquidate timeshare points we had, (The timeshare property isn't mentioned: we don't want to give them any form of free advertising). Again Liz Rooley was our assigned agent. Again she came through with flying colors; and coincidentally it took 5 months to complete the process. We should add that the waiting time wasn't caused by Resort Closings. It appears that the timeshare resort(s) may be quite fast in getting out their maintenance fee billing; but conditions slow down as Resort Closings waits for bureaucracies, (state govt. and timeshare offices), to transfer deeded units, or points, out of a timeshare owner's name. So, would we recommend Resort Closings? Absolutely!!! We are in our latter years; and we don't want any liens on our estate when our children inherit it. What we failed to understand when we bought into timeshares is, the maintenance fees tend to be forever. So, upon our demise, the fees are collected from the estate via a lien. Bottom line, we were very fortunate to meet that couple a year ago last Christmas. We may not meet them again. But, we are very thankful to them, and to Resort Closings, and especially Liz Rooley for being people who do what they say they will do.
