the windows are very food quality but follow up not good
the windows are very food quality, the installation was excellent, the follow up was not good. there was some minor damage from the installation. they sent someone out and he tried to rush the job so it was not done properly. he came back again and tried to finish it up, still not right, no one ever followed up, right now, I wouldn't recommend them. For what I paid for these windows, they should have been VERY ATTENTIVE.

To me it's surprising anyone hires…
To me it's surprising anyone hires these guys. First of all, they are about 2x more expensive than a local installer. Why not support a small business instead?
Additionally, these guys give you major notice they are deceptive. Their primary advertisement are "fake" handwritten notes that are mass printed. They are deceiving you right in front of your eyes and some can't see it? Or maybe they dont want to believe it. And they still fork over money.
"A fool and his money will soon part."

Unsatisfied customer person who measured…
We were told by the person who measured the windows that he was a professional carpenter. When the windows finally arrived. His measurements of the windows were completely wrong on all four windows. Windows had to be remeasured by someone else. Waiting almost one full year they finally arrived. The two installers were fantastic. Now there is heavy condensation on all 4 of the windows. Called the company in Bangor. I was told to sent pictures to a different number. When I sent a text to the proper person i was told would help with the issue, the response was not a phone call , but, a text! The person told me and then sent me a blurb from google about the reasons for condensation was normal and that it was recommended that i run a dehumidifier in the different rooms where the windows are located!! I have the curtains open in the rooms all day and the baseboard heaters are below the windows! There has always been constant condensation on at least 2 of them. Now we have mold that grows from all the windows not in the sunshine. I sent pictures of this to the “Proper “ person and no response…. Please,….at least a response of some sort is needed . We spent almost $18,000.00 on 4 windows and feeling very much unsatisfied with the results of of the professionalism to the complaint . Is this behavior consistent and common?? We are unsatisfied customers!!..

Disappointed in Renewal by Andersen…
Disappointed in Renewal by Andersen Window.
We had a sales Rep from renewal by Andersen come out 7/7/22. We decided to have 10 window & a patio door installed for over $37,000.00
After we signed the contract a couple project managers stopped by & told us how happy we will be with these windows. They are energy efficient and will really cut out the noise from outside.
Oct. 4, 2022 they installed 3 windows. They thought the frames were off so they went back to look at the other window frames. They decided they were correct so they installed the rest of the windows Oct. 12, 2022. These windows felt cold and are definitely not sound proof. We can hear everything that is going on outside.
Starting in November when it was very cold out these windows had condensation on the outer frames and on the woodwork. After several contacts with the service department & several service people coming out they finally figured out that the windows where installed incorrectly. They are not suppose to have condensation on the outer frame & on the woodwork. Of course they talked about the humidity in the house.
April 24th & 25th, 2023 They came and reinstalled all the window & moved them in 3/4 of an inch. They also installed the patio door at this time. I didn't want it because of all the problems I was having with the other windows, but they said they could not refund me the money that I paid if I didn't have it installed. They promised me I would not have any problems with the patio door.
This still didn't make a difference in the noise outside or how cold they are. They tried to tell us that it is because of the house. It is an older home built 1998. I told them that we will see what happens with these windows when it gets really cold out. In the meantime I had talked to one Bldg Inspector & sent him pictures & he told me typically patio doors aren't raised up like ours is. Another Bldg inspector came out to the house. He happened to work for Renewal by Andersen in the past. He said as far as the Building permit Renewal by Andersen installed the windows properly. He definitely saw our concerns. We talked about the humidity of which we have it down to 29% now as Renewal by Andersen had suggested to us. We also had the energy audit by excel come out & he did the infrared/thermal image camera. The gentlemen that came out said the windows were leaking a little were composite meets the wood sill. He could feel the draft & air leak. The patio door he said adjust the wheels at bottom to lower & plumb patio door for a better seal. We then had a cold snap & the windows were doing the same with moisture on the frame & on the wood. The patio door was the worst. It was frozen shut & there is a hole on the bottom right where the seal doesn't go all the way to the bottom. At one point they sent out a service guy who dropped the patio door down but did nothing about the seal. I again called the service dept & they sent out the service manager. We went from window to window & he wrote everything down. They sent two guys out who then raised the patio door, put a piece of wood over the hole in the right corner. They took the window trim out of 3 windows & said that they are adequately insulated. They had an excuse for the infrared red info, said the humidity needs to be 25% then he said 20%. I told him that is not healthy for not only us but for the house. He said well people go to Arizona because it is so dry. He then said the problem is the atmosphere. I told him I do not want this closed because next winter if the patio door is frozen shut or the moisture is all over the bottom woodwork, I want them to fix it. He said they would.
This has been the worst experience & I have notes of every time they were called, the times that they came out, names of every person from Renewal by Andersen that came out & I have tons of pictures. What bothers me is they first said, humidity, 29%, then 25% now 20%, it is the house because it is an older home, & now they are saying it is the atmosphere. Not once did they ever say that possible there is something wrong with the windows. One service guy did tell me that they once did have a bad batch of windows. I am so disappointed that I spent over $37,000.00 for worst windows than what we had. I am really concern when this winter comes and there is a cold snap how these windows & patio doors will perform and if they will continue to have moisture on the woodwork. My hope is they will stand up to their word & come & fix the windows & patio door. Their advertisement on TV is: "if there is ever an issue, we take full responsibility for it

Warranty coverage is awful.
I had over 26k worth of windows installed by Renewal by Andersen. I will give the windows a 5 star, I will give the warranty and follow up response zero stars. I just watched a commercial about the warranty and Renewal response to issues with the windows. The statement is not true.
I had mold develop on the windows and when I contacted Renewal their response was "that is not our concern". We did get a tech to come out and he told us that we had a better chance of falling off the steps then getting the warranty on my windows handled.
I needed 6 more windows changed on my house and did not even think of contacting Renewal. I went with a different company and their response to all on my questions were top notice.
I do not trust nor promote Renewal.

Independent installers are rude!
I will agree it’s a good product, however, their independent contractors they use are rude, won’t answer any questions and don’t respect your property. There was a bush up against a window that needed to be trimmed back. I went to do it and he said he would do it. Needless to say he destroyed the bush. So be aware it’s not Anderson who installs them. I requested a call from them to discuss the issue. They never called. I wouldn’t get windows from them again.

Rip off
I went with Heritage window and Renewal by Anderson because of the positive reviews. They are considerably more expensive than the other estimates I received, but windows are so important to the value and livability of a home, I thought the investment would be worth it. I had double pane wood windows and aluminum storm windows. There was peeling lead paint that needed to be mitigated as well, so I knew there would be extra labor for that. We decided to replace the windows because the glass had become etched and the lead paint was a hazard when we wanted to open the windows. It was a priority that the new windows be as quiet as the existing windows, which we were told repeatedly the triple pane would be better at sound dampening. So we paid extra for those in the primary bedroom as we live on a busy street.
The triple pane windows are a complete rip off. Not only do they block significantly less sound than the previous window configuration, the sound of the cars and trucks passing by is higher pitched and echoey. I have emailed and discussed this with multiple people at Heritage Window, and the response has been that their supplier doesn’t do storm windows, and that there is really no other solution. We are going to move our primary bedroom because the sound is now too loud to sleep in that room. We are fortunate that we can do that… we can’t really afford to replace the windows again or pay another company to add storm windows.
Due to the expense, we were only able to do half our windows. We paid roughly $2500 average per window for replacement, which is about 50% higher than the next highest bid.
Make sure to research what your priorities are and cast a wide net when you get estimates. Don’t get triple pane windows, they’re definitely not quieter than double pane and there is very little additional energy efficiency compared to cost. Once the window is installed, you’re on your own despite what you’re told during the sales pitch.

Glue on the interior trim
I had to have my window treatments removed before they came, despite the high prices they charge. My friends removed my blinds and when they replaced them again told me there was a sticky place on the interior trim. I tried to clean it, but it made it worse. I think it was wood glue. When I replied to their so-called survey, there was a "permanent error." For $11,554 for a sliding glass door, I should think they need to fix that permanent error.
