Going on a year long adventure with Remote Year amongst the best choices I've made in life.
Traveling the world is amazing of course, but I learned that what matter more than where you are going is who you are going with. The community RY fosters and nourishes is valuable beyond anything you can put a price tag on.
And price tag alone, it was a great value too

I recently completed a 4-month trip and had an amazing experience.
I recently completed a 4-month trip around Latin America with Remote Year. It was an incredibly positive and transformative experience that left me with 20+ new family members, incredible memories, and a heap more self-confidence. By no means was the trip perfect -- there were hospital visits, sensitive personal situations, and COVID scares -- but I felt supported, heard, and protected by RY at every step. They really are an inclusive, people-first company trying to give their Remotes the best experience possible. The accommodations were fancier in some countries than others, but we were always located in the center of the best neighborhoods in each city. Whenever there was a wifi issue (and there were some), RY worked overtime to fix the issue as quickly as possible and to also offer immediate alternative options (like access to another workspace in the city). It's an excellent program that delivers on its promises and I would recommend traveling with them to anyone who is considering it. I've already become a repeat customer and would sign up for another trip in a heartbeat.

The ideal retreat you’ve been dreaming of
This retreat went above and beyond my expectations. Everything from the location of the place, the accommodations, my room, the activities planned and the add on trips as well. It was a perfect balance for this libra. I would suggest mentioning the add-on trips to explore the actual city on retreats earlier so we can book accordingly. I think being in the middle of no where and truly disconnect and integrate into the retreat was amazing but ending with a trip to explore the actual city during a retreat really sealed the deal on the whole experienced. I am ready to book my second one.

Will be doing Remote Year again
I truly had a great experience with Remote Year. I did a 1-month work-travel program in Medellin, Colombia. I did very little research about Medellin before I left, because RY handles everything. It was so nice to be able to just show up and accommodation, cowork space, trips, activities, and friends(!) were all basically handed to me on a silver platter the day I arrived. RY made me more confident about remotely working wherever on my own, but I also plan on doing more Remote Year months in the future.

Antigua was an amazing experience
Antigua was an amazing experience! The side trips were unforgettable - like the day we spent with the Gonzalez family at their coffee farm - Josh created opportunities to connect across cultures and fall in love with his country. All the Remote Year staff worked hard to create community, make sure we had what we needed, and forge lifelong bonds in the group. I wish I could keep traveling with them!

I read the reviews and 4.6 out of 5 was very impressive! A friend asked me to rate the service that she provided for me and told me that it is better to give NO review than to give a bad review. Her most knowledgeable suggestion reminds me of my dearly departed Holy mother's admonition..."if you can't say something nice... don't say anything at all" I hope to write a review of an actual experience...if I am permitted to actually have an experience.

Fabulous experience for a (slightly nervous and older) solo traveler...
Remote Year was an excellent experience overall; sound-bites don't really cut it for a one month adventure so I will write a bit about the flavor of my trip. I understand that one month may be short for some, but I decided to dip my toe in before signing up for 4 months or a year. I liked it so much that more is now a possibility for me. Signing up was walking into a daring way of life for me since I am not the most flexible traveler. The people on the ground (group leaders Tue, Helena and Drake--all amazing humans), were always inquisitive, caring, patient, and extraordinarily helpful to me when I was lost or confused or needed help. The participants were all accepting, brave, hilarious and smart. Definitely we were an adventurous and fairly outdoorsy group of people. We were in Croatia which is a gob-smacking gorgeous culture and country on the Adriatic Sea. My age was disparate from that of 90% of the others in my group (older) and while there were a few others over 50 and I have a young spirit and a healthy strong body, my priorities and tastes at times made me feel different due to my age. The atmosphere caters to near 30 year olds-- most in my group were 28 and a few very early 30s, then a tiny handful were in their later 30 and 40s--and a small group were 55 plus. The group was wonderfully diverse in race, where they lived, even a bit of national diversity; 'Diversity & Inclusion' is an explicit value of the organization which I so appreciate. I believe that age variety might be encouraged by having strong and active leaders in their 50s, 60s and 70s because of the wisdom of age which creates balance on a level that would have made the trip even more seamless for me. I was thrilled that they explicitly (in our Day #1 orientation), in a feminist, no-nonsense way, spoke of the importance of consent regarding sex, and the importance of respect towards women and among all participants, with an approach of zero-tolerance for dis-respect. That in itself made me feel safe and comfortable in the group and had very positive impact on all. A highlight for me was going with another participant for a few nights to an island called Korcula. What Remote Year offers-- and their personnel-- are nothing short of caring, sophisticated and as communicative as possible in the age of ever-changing covid travel...The Remote Year organization is growing and evolving and the people running it, the participants and the trip were all top-notch in their perfectly imperfect, very approachable humanity!
