Back from Peru witg #RYNazca and Very impressed with Remote Year and all the great staff, each and every one. The infrastructure RY provides is a terrific safety net for anyone interested in experiencing remote work and living in another city. Most of all, true to what it communicates, the community building is excellent. Many opportunities built in to get to know fellow RY colleagues and form friendships. I highly recommend Remote Year for anyone interested in a phenomenal adventure and experience working and living somewhere new. The friendships and connections made are unparalleled and the experience life altering. Just Do It! You’ll be glad you did!

The experience that I had with Remote Year (RY) was just magical. I wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up, but I knew that I wanted to travel with like minded people. I was entering year 2 of the pandemic, and year 2 of working completely remote. I needed a change, and had a check-list of what my must haves were. A colleague of mine told me about RY and the dates and city lined up with my "check-list". What I didn't expect was the level of professionalism, ease, and thoughtfulness that came with the RY leadership team. When I arrived, I quickly felt comfortable .. that feeling of seeing an old friend... and this was echoed with the entire group I was paired with. If this is something you're thinking about doing, I say YES. My 1-month program flew by but I made lifelong friends and explored parts of the world I only had on my pinterest board.

Remote Year did an incredible job for our 1 month in Peru. The program was action packed, we learned a ton about local culture, met an amazing group of people, and the Remote Year local team was so helpful and fun to be with. Incredible experience.

I just finished a 4-month "Learn & Travel" program in Latin America (big love to the Cruz program and our leader, Sharon!), and would highly recommend Remote Year if you have the means and the ability to do it. Remote Year was attractive to me from the perspective of really wanting someone else to take care of all the details, and they definitely delivered. Inter-country travel, cool experiences (some free, some for additional money), guaranteed spaces to work, and really being able to float along were all such valuable things to have included. As someone who is ordinarily a big planner, and looking to make the digital nomad lifestyle more permanent, it was nice to have them do all the leg work, and I now have a much better sense of what kinds of co-working spaces I might look for now that I'm on my own. While Remote Year was certainly at a higher cost to me than the same elements might have cost me if I booked them on my own (housing, travel, etc.), it was super easy, and I can't undersell the benefit of having a group of people to travel with. Certainly, there's no guarantee about the number or type of people who will be on your program, but I've found the folks in my group, and many of the other program alumni (Citizens) to be some genuinely awesome people. Definitely found some lifelong travel buddies, plus some folks that I'm sure I'll run into all over the world. In summary, I think Remote Year does what they say they're going to do, and does it well. I learned, I traveled, and I worked, and I feel set-up to continue doing all those things on my own, with an awesome community of RY Citizens around me.

I don't even know how to summarize my incredible experience with the Remote Year team. It is the coolest, most creative, easiest and safest way to travel. I did the 4 month program in Europe and Africa Aug 2021 - Dec 2021. Our program leader, Joanna, was truly so organized, kind and thoughtful about every single thing that she did. Having city managers in each location (meaning someone who lives locally in each city you travel to) was an amazing way to immerse ourselves authentically and safely into each new cultural experience. The events that were curated were all fun, engaging and unique. What is especially awesome is that even though you are on a program with fellow travelers, you are still treated like an adult. Don't feel like hiking on Tuesday morning? Then don't! Want to plan your own side-trip with friends or for solo travel? Go for it! No one is stopping you from curating your own experience - they are only there to guide you when you want/need. Last but certainly not least is the RY community. The people you meet during your travels will be unlike anyone you've ever encountered before. They are kind, resourceful, daring, respectful, adventurous and jut plain fun. And being a part of the Slack channels and obtaining citizenship (which is a privilege you get after 4 months of traveling with Remote Year) is a gift that keeps on giving!! I would recommend this organization 10000 times over. In fact, I am currently on another one-month program with them right now! Only took me 3 months to hop right back into it :) Thanks for an unforgettable experience RY!
