My one-month experience exceeded my expectations and has had a beautiful impact on my life. It was amazing to meet a community of like-minded people and to feel supported at all times — if I had questions about upcoming activities or needed advice relating to professional and personal growth, there was always someone to guide me. I made life-long friends and had the best time in Valencia! I will cherish those memories forever and I am eager to signup for my next RY adventure! After three years of being stuck at home because of the pandemic, RY offered the best option for me to get back out there, explore the world and feel alive again!

Beautiful time with RY Satchmo
Had the most amazing month this September! Giral and Sarah were committed to creating a great sense of community and some really unique and fun experiences. Overall, everyone on the trip seemed to have a great time and leave with a real affection for a very special city.

Successful ebbs and flows of exploration and connecting.
I had a wonderful experience with a new New Orleans month-long Remote Year program. The staff and leaders were thoughtful and hard-working... keeping tabs on the ebbs and flows of how everyone was doing and adjusting to what people did and did not want to do at the drop of a hat. They opened themselves up personally allowing true bonds to happen and making it a really genuine experience for us to work and play together.
The workplace was dreamy! The living space had so many spots and places to explore also. An added shared lounge, kitchen and apartment allowed us to cook and gather seperate from our sleeping spaces... so overall there were plenty of places to exist during the month. All within walking distance to everything you might need including groceries and coffee shops for a quick morning espresson. Well thought out.
So much value for the money, I don't know how they do it!

RY Satchmo in NOLA was the friggin BEST
RY Satchmo in NOLA was the friggin BEST. Made amazing friends, got to explore an incredible city, had the time of my life! I want Giral and Sarah to be on every trip I take in the future. And NOLA will forever have a special place in my heart. Truly no regrets and can't recommend RY enough.

Magical NOLA
I had the most amazing time in New Orleans, it really is a magical place and I am so happy I picked it for my first Remote Year experience. I met the most wonderful individuals on the trip and made some lifelong friendships, so happy to be part of such a great group, we came together like a little family! Our community leader Giral (Paco) was absolutely awesome, he made me feel safe and welcome throughout the entire trip, couldn’t have asked for someone better, and will definitely want to take another remote year trip with him as community leader. Our city manager Sarah was absolutely lovely, she introduced us to all of the wonderful local places and people, she always did her best to cater events to the entire group throughout the month while getting to know us! I would have really loved to spend more time with everyone, maybe six weeks would be more ideal, nonetheless one of the most fun and enriching experiences of my life!

Life changing experience
This was the best month of my life. Spending a month in New Orleans was so much fun. We had a smaller group which was great because it was easy to get to know everyone quickly and we all stayed together for the entire month. I’d recommend RY and New Orleans to anyone!

Magical one week retreat…
I had the most magical one week retreat with Remote Year in Pelion, Greece, thanks to the wonderful facilitator Elena Damiani! She curated a program that was just the right mix of fun, adventure, relaxation, and connection. In addition to that, accommodation was perfect, meals were delicious, and the guests invited to lead different workshops were such a delight. The theme of the retreat was recharge and reconnect, and a month in after the retreat has ended and I still feel super recharged and reconnected with myself!

12 Month Journey
I completed an around the world trip with Remote Year in August 2022. Doing this has been the single best decision of my life and the most transformative year I've ever experienced. The people I've met and the things I've experienced, plus what I've learned about myself along the way, will mark a major pivot point in my life.
Was the experience - in terms of its execution - 5 stars every day, all the time? No. But life isn't 5 stars all the time. What's important to me in writing the review is the sum total of the experience.
Will I look back on this with sentiment that I started my review with? Absolutely.
There are cheaper way to see the world. There are other ways to make friends. But I don't know anything that has quite the special mix that Remote Year provides in terms of an environment to truly grow as a human being, while giving you so much opportunity to connect and learn (and also, keep your job).
I've managed to cram 20+ vacations into a single year, change jobs, grow my team, make dozens of new friends, and see places I never thought I'd visit. I've learned I'm way more adaptable than I ever expected, and the experience has helped me realize that life is what you make it, not a path someone lays out for you.
There's valid negative feedback on this site in other reviews, and I think its important that anyone considering RY follow the advice former remotes gave me - you have to know what you want out of the experience, and keep that in mind throughout. I wanted a complete life reset. I got it. Others may want something different, and they should decide for themselves if RY is the right thing for them. I'd use many phrases to describe my experience but "casual decision" is not one of them. "Life changing" absolutely is.
