My experience is definitely a 5/5 due to many factors but the one most important was how great the people were. People as in Mari and Julio(our leaders) and the rest of the crew on the Valencia trip. Mari was there for us anytime we needed her, she’s an excellent planner and a joy to be around! Julio provided plenty of laughs and poppin entertainment. It truly felt like I was on a trip with friends I’ve known for a while. 10/10!

The RY city leaders supported all travelers and really connected us with Brazilian culture and hospitality. The city trips were amazing, especially Rio. Florianopolis is full of natural beauty and beaches to explore.

Having a local City Team, and a built in community, makes such a difference when traveling. I have done a lot of solo travel and enjoy that as well but it is so nice to show up on a foreign location and know that certain logistics are handled. RY does a good job of providing information and events to get things started and then letting people naturally build community and friendship with others on the trip.

Medellin, Columbia is a MUST! The city team and location is so much fun. Great food, work space, and neighborhood. Highly recommended- if you are on the fence, book it!!!

I did a year program in 2018 and many single months since then. Overall, I think RY is a worthwhile experience and it is great to have the option to hang out with people in each city. Sure you can do it cheaper, but sometimes it is really nice to not have to plan everything myself all the time. The city teams and staff in general are all pretty awesome and very helpful. It all really transforms a city experience.

Remote Year's setup in Lisbon is one of its very best -- with beautiful modern apartments in the best parts of town, a stunning and easily accessible workspace, and the personalized knowledge and recommendations of the city team Pedro and Viviana. This was an 10/10 experience and I would recommend it to anyone considering Remote Year or digital nomading in Lisbon.

Spent a month in Lisbon with Remote Year and it was an unforgettable experience! I was originally looking to make the trip on my own but the Remote Year program provided the community and connections that I would not have made by myself. The community managers are incredibly helpful and supportive providing an orientation of Lisbon on the first day and local insight I would not have found online. They even celebrated our birthdays and made us feel so welcome. Lisbon is a beautiful city, friendly people, super accessible, great food and the language barrier is not an issue. There is so much to see and do honestly one month just isn't enough. The co-work space is the best in the city with rooftop views and in an excellent neighborhood. The apartment was really comfortable, a luxury experience with AC in every room, modern decor and only a short uber ride to anywhere in the city. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build community with like-minded travelers and connect with expats in Lisbon.

Medellin for the second time I just spent a second month in Medellin, Columbia for the second time on my remote journey with Remote Year around the world. The experience was just fantastic. Maria and Catalina as city managers were just amazing and they made the experience so much more meaningful because they brought their beautiful energy to every activity. I had done many of the experiences last year, but this year I did a lot more “informal“ things with them and other people, and got to see a little bit more of real life. I realized that the people are so warm and the city is really trying to make us feel welcome with safety and providing security. I have to give the city a lot of credit for how much it has transformed itself over the recent past. I would say this was an extremely positive experience, and a great Remote Year destination. Maria and Catalina are so wonderful. If you go, make time to go to coffee with them and get to know them. I would say they were a big part of how successful the experience was.
