Best chain/online outdoor store out there. Products, website, shipping, returns all the best. Been a member for around 30 years. So much for Trustpilot. Either the only people who comment are disgruntled or a competitor is trying to smear them.

Great in person and online. I'm not super outdoorsy, although I usually train for at least a couple of half marathons each year, and occasionally go hiking. I've found high-quality merchandise here every time, and often at sale prices lower than what I can find elsewhere. I recently found a pair of shoes I'd been considering on clearance, and they arrived right on time and in perfect condition.

I have ordered and received successfully the "Sahara Convertible Pants", which you can turn into shorts without taking your shoes off. Lightweigt and still reliable, as for now. I have no claims so far.

Availability, the staff, the quality. I no longer shop in malls……..only REI. In fact my closets resemble REI STORES!!! This has been ongoing for a good long time. They want me to pick a date below but it is in fact 365 days per year! THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!! I also do online REI shopping! No doubt my numerous REI experiences have all been genuine.

I've been a customer and member of REI for about 5 years now. I love the peace of mind that their free return policy provides. When you buy costly hiking or climbing shoes, it might not be apparent immediately that they aren't the right fit for you. With REI, however, you can bring them back and get what you need. Also, be sure to visit their "used gear" section. I've found a few items there for a fraction of their normal price.
