The Red Roof Inn in Burlingame, CA was a horrible experience. The grounds were very shabby (the same leaves and debris were on the elevator floor for the 3 days we were there). The rooms were not clean-we had two rooms and one of them the door did not lock, when we told them they said use the security bar! They only provided 3 towels for 4 people in the room, there were no towels at the pool and the gate lock was broken so kids could just push on the gate and go right in. Definitely not the quality we have come to expect from Red Roof in other cities.

Arcata Ca location should not be able to carry the name. When you go online it says there is a pool and a hot tub when you get there it is broke down it also said there is breakfast provided but when you get there it is not. I couldn't even get to the door before someone asked me for a cigarette. And when I got to my room and looked out the window somebody was living in their trailer with no wheels in the parking lot. I can't believe Red Roof Inn would even let someone carry their name and look like that. The front desk was nice but the managers were right behind the door listening and didn't bother to come out at all. I wish one person would have done a review and told me there was no pool and hot tub and no free breakfast and I would have never considered the place.

No refund given since occurrence summer 2016. Money kept for inferior conditions. Chirping smoke alarm in room, broken phone to front desk, broken security door bar, live cockroaches, fleas in bed (seen by pulling down covers) - all included with room, did not feel safe, no thanks. Checked out within a couple hours, no refund given - Red Roof condones these conditions by not issuing refund immediately. Booked and prepaid online...never again.
