What Redemption Press does well is hire staff with sincere hearts and great expertise in their area. However, all people have their own life issues, and we had the misfortune of having two people assigned to us who were over-stretched in commitments, thus placing us for months and months on the back-burner. Finally, reluctantly, we complained to Athena Holtz, who personally worked with us to rectify the situation. The last few months were a great experience with some amazing people and our finished product, excellent. The timeline was from September 2020 to May 2023.

From beginning to launch this fine group of hard-working people led this neophyte author through the process with unwavering support, courtesy and most importantly knowledge.

I can't thank the team at Redemption Press enough for helping me publish my book. They coached the "timid" out of the intimidation I felt about writing my story. What courage I lacked at the beginning of the project was replaced with confidence. I can't wait to write another book with them. As far as a self-publishing company is concerned, there are many positive, as well as outstanding, attributes I experienced with Redemption Press. Though many employees have been replaced since my book was published in 2017, the founder Athena Holtz was an integral part of the process and had a standard of excellence she continually required from her staff. The finished product was better than hoped for and much appreciated.

My experience with Redemption Press has been great. Athena is fantastic to deal with, responsive, and ready to put into print issues that other Christian publishers may shy away from. She is committed to excellence in publishing, just as I am. She is very well known in the industry, and she does a lot to help rising authors hone their craft, enter writing contests, and get recognized. I heard one publishing professional call her "a force of nature." That's a pretty strong recommendation! She also helps authors with marketing, which, admittedly, many of us are not great at. The editors have been good to work with as well. Very helpful. It is a collaborative process, with a lot of back and forth, and they are committed to excellence. They are also kind and thoughtful of their authors, as they gently nudge us through the process and pray for us. My first book, Overcoming the Narcissist, Sociopath, Psychopath and Other Domestic Abusers, was nearly 600 pages, and I asked for a lot of unique things because of the nature of my topic. It has over 200 footnotes. I needed a 2 sided book jacket, with one side being a "decoy" for women in unsafe situations who could not bring home a 4 pound book about abusers when they are still in abuse. Redemption Press was more than accommodating, and appreciated the need for these special requests. The book won numerous awards, thanks to the commitment of Athena and her team to embrace the vision that I had for it, and make it top notch.
