The 1-1 coaching program with Redefining Strength has changed how I understand and feel about food. I have gone from spending the last 40 years trying to eat as little as possible, always trying to loose weight, to joyfully eating a well balanced 1800 calories a day while building muscle. (I’m 5’1). I have learned that my constant restriction of calories and/or a type of macro was the cause of my energy crashes and constant food noise. Learning how to fuel my body properly has changed my constant cravings for sugar. The tracking and constant reflection of how my body feels has made me understand that under eating was keeping me from reaching my goals. In addition to how it has helped me with food, I love the weekly educational info I receive, the workouts, the App and all the people who are available to support me through this journey. It was a big decision for me to spend the money for the one to one coaching. It has been worth every single penny. I know that I have already changed life long beliefs and patterns from the support and direction I have received and my year is not over yet.

I am roughly six months into the program. So far I am seeing changes in my muscle growth, I have increased calories so that I have more energy and now that I am eating more food, I noticed my hair has thickened and isn’t falling out like it has been for years! The changes are small but have had a huge impact on my life. If you are on the fence about this program, this is your sign to DO IT!

Work Hard & Be Patient
In a world where everything seems to be rushed, I have learned and developed fitness patience with RDS (With my coach - Rebecca). I began in March - right in the middle of a family health crisis and the recent loss of my Mom. I have mostly stuck to the practice with the help of the App and my coach. It hasn't been easy with my significant travel (frequent 23 hour flights). But I have seen my shape transform (my arms, legs and gradually abdomen). Stick with it and believe in the process!!

*Life-changing* year…down 8% body fat, 12kg (26lbs), 5" waist size
I’ve just had a *life-changing* year with Redefining Strength and in particular with my coach Sarah Robson.
Before I started, I was overweight at 82-kg with ~32% body-fat. As a 44-year old, my health checks weren’t getting any better, and it wasn’t for lack of trying. Over the years, I had tried intermittent fasting, calorie restriction diets, increasing cardio (e.g. HIIT), etc. Any progress made was fleeting, and within a span of a single week all hard-won progress got reset and I went back to >80-kg.
Based on my blood-work, doctors were starting to recommend meds. My ultrasound scans showed fat deposits on my liver.
I knew I had to change something fundamentally. I was keen to get healthy for the long-term, and I knew my habits were holding me back. My main motivation to change was being able to play and keep pace with my energetic 6-year old daughter as she grows.
I scanned a variety of ‘professional’ options – both local to where I live (Singapore, Asia), and remote (US, India, Malaysia, etc.). Sifting through various options, I thought that despite the time-zone difference, Redefining Strength was the best fit for me. What stood out was the substance-over-style and low-hype approach. So, on my 44th birthday, I gifted myself a year’s subscription to their coach guided program.
I was very fortunate to receive Sarah as my assigned coach. She worked with me to set-up habits that have since stuck – e.g. nutrition tracking, cycling through periods of fat-loss and muscle recuperation, etc.
Given the time zone difference, and the demands of a job in tech., my experience with Redefining Strength essentially came down to my interactions with Sarah. I benefitted from keeping myself accountable to Sarah and placing my trust in her methods for an extended period of time before judging. I also benefitted from her focus on fundamentals and no-frills approach.
With my 45th birthday, my Dexa scan showed that I had reached ~24% body fat (down -8% YoY), a steady-state body weight of ~70kg (-12kg YoY), and ~4-5” off my waist. In my book, that was a life-changing year. Looking back, I think I now appreciate the habits that matter and move the needle.
If I can make this journey, so can anyone! I recommend entering into a program with an open mind and trusting the process to make habitual changes.
The magic ingredient is time - keep at it for 6 months or more before judging oneself. I'd been obese / overweight for a couple of decades :-). It made sense to me to invest a few months to turn it around.

She coaches the whole picture, not just a generic plan
I've been working with Andrea at Redefining Strength since December 2025.
After a couple of years of trying to manage my weight with Weight Watchers, AI, and tracking every data point, I wasn't getting anywhere. I'm a consistent Peloton rider and had dipped my toe into strength training, but nothing was moving and I couldn't figure out why. It was incredibly frustrating.
Cori Lefkowith, the owner of Redefining Strength, says what you used to do doesn't work after menopause. She's right. It's taken me a while to unlearn old habits and let go of so much cardio, but the more I've embraced the RS plan, the more progress I've seen. Andrea helped me spread out my hard workouts and build in real recovery days. There hasn't been a ton of weight loss, but I've definitely lost inches. My clothes fit again, I can see my abs, and my arms are starting to show definition. Progress at last!
I've learned a lot from my coach, Andrea Sage, especially around mindset. When the scale jumped after a hard training week, she taught me it was inflammation and water, not fat, so I stopped panicking. And planning my meals ahead means I can fit in weekend treats without undoing my week. Weight Watchers wasn't wrong. It just wasn't calibrated for the workouts I do or for my age.
I'd recommend Andrea to anyone who trains hard and wants a coach who actually looks at the data.

Never the perfect time!
I have to admit that I was reluctant to start my training program with Leigh because my summer was crazy busy with friends visiting. I wanted to be able to devote myself 100% to this program, but knew I would be eating out, having a few cocktails and not able to use a gym. With her encouragement I went for it and was able to significantly improve my balance and maintain my weight and measurements despite several days (maybe weeks!) when I allowed myself to focus mainly on enjoying my company and good food. My strength improved using mostly "fitness snacks" --an exercise or two to do whenever I had down time. With the skills I gained starting my training program when life crazy I am confident that I will continue to improve my health and fitness so I can achieve whatever I choose to do in the future!

It has been an extremely educational and motivational!
It has been an extremely educational and motivational program. I feel my coach gets me and is invested in ramping my knowledge and seeing my progress. The program is simple but powerful, a sense of accountability I needed without feeling overwhelmed - just step by steps steady progress that actually changes habits and creates a new lifestyle - nutrition and movement are in balance.

A huge shout out to Coach Leigh
A huge shout out to Coach Leigh. Her guidance throughout our 1:1 coaching sessions was truly eye-opening. The way she structured my workouts - stretching them from two weeks to four-to-six weeks completely changed my perspective on training and gave me the space to really focus on Progressive overload. I'm steadily adding weight and reps each week and feeling absolutely fantastic. Thank you Coach Leigh. Yes, I put in the work but you gave me the roadmap to make it count.
