I worked for Real Professors as an analyst for four years and consistently met deadlines and delivered high-quality work. Unfortunately, my recent experience has been deeply disappointing. I am currently owed approximately $3,000 in unpaid compensation. Despite sending more than 19 emails over several weeks requesting payment and clarification, I have received no response from the owners or management.
I am sharing this review to describe my personal experience and to encourage transparency. I hope the company resolves this issue and improves communication with its contractors and employees.

Hello Samantha. My colleague and I sent you an email explaining how you have miscalculated, almost two weeks ago, now. I trust that once you check the math, you will remove this post.

So many unhappy clients
So many unhappy clients. Avoid them!
Did not deliver even an acceptable draft and did not refund any portion of my money!

This former client has published her dissertation. The content in their published dissertation was largely unchanged, with the only significant modification being that the client had moved a few paragraphs around and deleted a couple of sentences. A quality document was prepared for Susan and she successfully defended the content she received. Susan continues to harass our business by filing chargeback claims and attempting to take the payment of her project to arbitration. However, these attempts have failed as her claims remain unfounded. Her claim that she had to "re-write everything" herself and "discard whatever" we delivered is defamation. Real Professors believes that services such as Trustpilot serve a vital role in e-commerce and that consumers giving truthful descriptions of their experiences is essential for markets to work. However, lies such as these harm small businesses. If a consumer makes claims that a service did not achieve its stated purpose when there is evidence that it did as a way to coerce the business into a refund, all the while using transaction reversals to recoup money and failing because their claims to the bank when filing chargebacks and demands for arbitration were false, then the only remedy is to rely on the legal system. Attempts have been made to deliver documents to Susan, but to no avail. We continue to work with our attorney to serve paperwork.
I have reviewed the 291 emails between yourself and our firm between the first time you reached out to us for assistance in September 2023 and April 2024. I focused on the emails from January 2024, when you contracted with us and made payment for services to April 2024, when you informed us that you intended to speak with a lawyer and subsequently ceased contact with us until filing the review below this review.
The two claims you make here are that we did not deliver an acceptable draft and that we did not refund any portion of your money. Concerning the claim of not receiving an acceptable draft, all that Dr. Boardman received for direction was the dissertation manual that included a few sentences in a paragraph that listed some suggested sections. We have been doing this for many years, so we know the general format for sections in a dissertation, they typically do not deviate much. However, your chair was expecting a specific approach and format to your Chapter 3 that deviated from what is typically in Chapter 3. We did not find out about this from you until after your chair had accepted Chapter 1 and only had a few incidental recommendations for Chapter 2. It was only then that you sent a sample of what they wanted.
When Chapter 1 was accepted and Chapter 2 only required a few small revisions and you sent over a sample for Chapter 3 that would require Dr. Boardman redo significant parts, he was happy to do this for you. You were told that we would need all of your data because, based on the sample given to us after writing up your project, Chapter 3 would need to include narrative of how the data was collected and analysis was completed, not just a description of the plans for data collection and analysis. Chapter 3 would also require a description of characteristics of the sample for your study. These cannot be “fudged”. We needed the data and needed to perform analysis before this could be added to your Chapter.
So, if your project had advanced to the point where the only significant change needed was based on something that we did not receive until after the write-up was completed and you made the decision to not work with us any longer, there are absolutely no grounds for a refund.
We have a lot of clients who make significant sacrifices to afford our services and we work painstakingly hard to satisfy their committees. We respect them and their sacrifices because we understand what this type of expense can mean and many of our clients are struggling and need a degree to advance or improve their pay.

Be Careful with this company!
Be careful with this company. They were incredibly rude, unprofessional, and aggressive towards me. After telling me we were working together and sending them my dissertation, I was left ghosted for 4 weeks, despite several unanswered email inquiries! I had to cancel a semester and lost lots of money. It took telling them I may leave a negative review to get a sudden response from their CFO (Lei), essentially informing me she forgot to get back to me to tell me they took on higher-paying clients. They were unapologetic, highly condescending and said they didn't want to work with me since I threatened to leave a bad review. The entire correspondence was around talking me out of leaving a review, using gaslighting tactics. I finally told them to bug off. Be warned.
Response from Real ProfessorsSep 29, 2023
To be very clear, Real Professors did not agree to work with this person. We never sent him a contract for any service. We never even discussed a contract for service. He has never been a client.
No less, I provided him with a free consultation, including sending him some of my personal teaching materials via email regarding what statistical tests were appropriate for his research hypotheses and dataset. I also mentored him via Zoom for an hour about why multiple regression (of one ilk or another, after the obligatory assumptions tests) was the only appropriate method.
But, indeed, after this, I lost him in the shuffle of new business as the onset of the Fall academic term began. As a potential new client, this reviewer was not a priority because after I quoted him our pricing via email, his response was, "LOL. Okay, well thank you for your time." This was before I met with him via Zoom, which I did despite knowing he would likely go with a different consultancy. After the free Zoom mentoring session, our actual (i.e., paying) clients became the priority, as anyone who is an actual client of Real Professors would expect.
As for anyone with Real Professors being rude, aggressive, and condescending, this is patently false. The reviewer interacted with three professors. All of their communications with the reviewer were informative and professional in tone.
I have requested the evidentiary bases with which the Trustpilot Content Integrity Team (TCIT) has justified retaining the claims made in this review to remain online. The TCIT has not provided evidence (e.g., email exchanges supporting the reviewer's claims in this review) because it does not exist.
All of that said, I am very aware that a reviewer does not have to be a client to leave a valid negative review. The only valid (i.e., true) content in this review is that I did not respond to the reviewer's emails for weeks for the aforementioned reasons, after the aforementioned Zoom mentoring session. If this is grounds for a one-star review, I fully accept that.

Terrible academic service
Worst experience in my whole academic career. They do not seem to do anything on time. They are so overloaded that they do not pay attention to some of the work. I wasted four weeks since consulting had nothing back. No topic development, nothing at all. I will never forget this experience. I wasted four weeks of my precious time. I will never recommend

Hello Asong. I do apologize for the delay, which is unacceptable, I agree. This is why we refunded you your entire payment, unprompted by you and before you posted this 1-star review.
The delay was a function of two factors. The first was your dataset, which is not nearly large enough in terms of both variation and units of observation for cluster analysis, or any other AI algorithms required of data science doctoral programs. Were you open to using another dataset, the topic development and writing of Chapter 1 would have been efficient.
The second factor was the very short notice for the completed Chapter 1. You hired us four weeks ago, yet your course is 12 weeks long. You gave us one day's notice about the end of the 12 weeks.
But the buck stops with me. I sincerely apologize for your negative experience and appreciate your review on this site. We have recently brought on two more professors with data science backgrounds, which means that your experience is and will remain an unfortunate outlier. Data science is the one field in which we were lacking enough human capital. But now that problem is resolved.
I wish you the best in your endeavors, academic and otherwise.
