Why three weeks to get my books?

The communication was horrific. I could never get anyone on the phone when I called or either I received the run around. The only time I heard from a representative was when they were trying to sell me a different package. I lost &400.00 with them that I couldn’t get back and it took me and it took me 7 mo the to have my books returned to me.

At this point, Reading Glass would not even rate one star from me. In August of 2023 I was contacted by Reading Glass to have my book (Reclaiming the Bible: Reading it for Yourself) in their then 2 stores in New Jersey. I agreed, signed a contract, paid them $399, and sent 20 copies of my book (at my expense). For the time of the contract (6 months to have my book on their shelves for sale) they were in good contact with me, Tina Sparks did a great job of reaching out to me. I never received a check for sold books even though I was told that a few had sold. I never received any quarterly reports. I received nothing. I reached out by various means seeking answers only to be told "they would get back with me." Here we are, December 2024 and all I have are empty words. I hate to have to be so negative about any business let alone a veteran owned one but so far they have not fulfilled their contract with me, just taken my money and my books and left me high and dry. Let me put an addendum on my review. They have reached out to me and have are trying to work things out to a more equitable position, so I applaud them for this. Feeling a bit better about them.

I was called early in the morning . I listened to the entire speech. When they gave me prices they were very high. I informed them I couldn’t at this time. Then I received a horrible text saying good riddance and that I am going to be stuck with no progress and they have plenty of other authors and do t need me. Then I asked for referrals and said I saw an article about them in an author review. They went into this whole text that the person was a snake and didn’t know what she is taking about. I think I don’t trust them and my first impression has not been good.

Very disappointed in this book store. They mostly sell self published and religious books. They have some manga, but in the original Japanese, not English translations. Was so looking forward to having a book store in our mall, but this one is a bust.

It has been over a month since I did my book signing. They paid me the wrong amount for my royalties; and now, they won’t issue me a check for the correct amount.

Everything was a scam!!! The company is NOT a reputable business and they even had the audacity to say "We are not in the habit of giving back a customer their money.", when I asked for a refund of my down-payment 3 days after I had paid them when the law REQUIRES them to return a full refund, if asked for, within 10 business days!!!! The 3 physical stores they used as selling points, were little more than over stuffed, disorganized, piles of books on a bookshelf in an user-UNfriendly and tight storefront that looked as if it were a janitorial closet where people just threw old books into!!! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! Authors BEWARE and STEER CLEAR of this pitiful company!
