not happy with unexpected $50 COD charge for freight when I had already paid over $30 US for freight when item purchased.

Unfortunately, our system has no way of calculating international duties and taxes at this time. If you refer to the "Duties and Taxes:" section on our Shipping and Returns policy page, located here: http://www.rainharvest.com/shipping-and-returns.asp, you will see this policy outlined. If this was your first time ordering something online that ships from outside of Canada to you, I can certainly understand why this may have been a bit of a surprise, so I apologize for the confusion about this process. We will certainly look into ways for our shipping calculator to estimate these taxes and duty fees that may be incurred with international shipments.
