The mattress was an awful, but their return process is. They refused to let me process the return, even though I had all of the information said that I had to be an authorized user on my husband‘s account even though we share the same address, bank account, credit card, and I had all the necessary information to confirm the order.

I love my Purple mattress. Purple is hiding bad reviews. Bought the expensive DreamLayer Pillow and the offgassing is horrible. The pillow is over month old and still has a bad smell. They asked for a review. Gave it 2 stars and they have not published it. They scrub bad reviews from their website. Hard to believe under 300 people have reviewed the pillow.

We have the original Purple Matress and it was great until it wasn't. It didn't gold up over time. I went through the warranty and I know that it meet the requirements to have replaced and yet they denied it. I followed exactly what they asked for and they didn't even hesitate to decline it. Once upon a time I would've definitely recommended it to anyone but not after this. The warranty is a joke and it is an issue they don't stand by it. I would steer clear.

I purchased a Purple Restore Soft mattress based on the advertised 100-night trial. Nowhere during the buying process was it made clear that returning the mattress would incur a $250 return fee. I only discovered this after initiating the return request. When I contacted customer support, I explained that I would not have bought the mattress had I known about this fee. I even escalated to a supervisor, but they still refused to waive the charge, despite the lack of transparent disclosure. Their own website says “100-night trial” and mentions pickup and refund – but no clear mention of the high return fee. This kind of hidden fee undermines consumer trust and goes against what I expect from a premium brand. I felt misled. I believe this return fee should be clearly displayed upfront during checkout, not buried later in the process. I hope Purple reconsiders how they communicate this policy and starts putting customers first.

Mattress started to separate internally after about 2 years. They put me through an incredibly detailed warranty request form and pictures. OK done. Just got back an email saying they will decide if I get a warranty or not in 7-10 days. Really? No bed for at least 2-3 weeks after delivery.?! They did get back to me in 5 days after and proceeded to quickly ship a newer version of the same model. P.S. There is a label attached to the bottom of the mattress. They said that I must send a photo of that label or NO refund! Thank goodness I did not remove the paper tag!

With so many reviews of different products, people write their reviews too soon after purchase, while still enamored with their new purchase. We purchased our new Purple mattress on November 27, 2017 for $1,412.02. I was excited to try them out and see how the gel grid could take some pressure off of my shoulders and hips, (I'm a side sleeper) and also be comfortable for my wife, (she's a back sleeper). For the first two years we were happy. Liked the mattress and the sleep and comfort we had on it. Very soon however we started to notice that we had distinct body impressions in the areas where we sleep. I am 6' 4" and weigh 240 pounds and my wife is 5' 9" and..... Yeah, you didn't think I would tell, did you? All that aside, we noticed early on that we were making body impressions. So we started to rotate the mattress and look for other ways to extend its life. However, during the last six months we both started to have more and more significant back paint, specifically low back pain as we were no longer feeling the support we needed. This support was still in the center of the bed - there was a nice little ridge down the middle where both of us could sleep well, but two people certainly can't share that. We consulted the warranty and the fine print says; "During normal, properly supported use, this warranty shall apply only if (i) the materials of construction develop a visible indentation in the mattress greater than one (1.00) inch compared to the surrounding mattress areas after full recovery from load, or (ii) if the materials of the mattress crack, split, or otherwise fail during normal use and normal handling which is in accordance with Purple’s care and use instructions for the mattress. This indentation must be of large enough width and length to be considered a body impression, and only applies to the mattress and not to settling of the cover fiber-fill materials. Generally, to measure the indentation the cover would be unzipped and removed, then a straight-edge would be set on the mattress of length to be beyond the indentation on both sides of the indentation, then a vertically placed ruler would show the depth of any indentation. The mattress must be flat on the floor to be measured (so that indentations in the mattress can be differentiated from problems with your foundation or frame). Purple expects you to not experience such indentations, but if you do, it is covered under the terms of this limited warranty." This is the problem - you will likely NEVER see an indentation of 1" so as to activate the Warranty. That being said, we are at the point after only three years of use that we again need to purchase another mattress because the support we initially had has disappeared. Even though we did enjoy our Purple mattress for a time, I would not recommend them to a friend and I wouldn't purchase from them again.
