We are currently in the process of getting a dog via puppy spot and are having a horrible experience.
the lack of communication is shameful considering the price we paid for our puppy. not to mention they have had our money for over a week, and we have not gotten a single updated picture of our puppy. She is supposed to be coming home on Saturday and have not gotten a single update on her HEALTH! Oh and don't even bother using the "chat" function on the app. I have tried that 3x a day for nearly a week....not ONE response. Try calling on the phone...wait time of an hour. WE PAID ALOT OF MONEY to be ignored with ZERO information that they PROMISE at time of purchase. AVOID.

Catherine - Thanks for trusting us to find your new best friend, Penelope! Welcoming home a furry family member should be full of joy and we're disappointed that you have negative feelings about your experience. We never want a puppy parent to feel their needs are being ignored at any point of their experience as that is the exact opposite of what we strive to provide. We sincerely apologize for any stress or inconvenience this may have caused. Despite your dissatisfaction, we'll continue to be here if you need us at any point in your puppy parent journey.

I purchased one of the most costly dogs…
I purchased one of the most costly dogs on their site which stated he would be ready on Sep 21st or when he reached 2 pounds or 8 weeks. It literally said this all over the site and the app. They have since moved the travel date 3 separate times with no explanation. There is no concierge, you talk to a different rep every time you call. My kids twice have set 'calendar countdowns' and crossed off days until the pup comes only to find it is cancelled again. Extremely disappointing experience for a dog that cost 3 times what it does on other sites. I assumed I was paying a premium for excellent service and on time delivery, not so.

Betha - While we are happy to report your new puppy has made it to his forever home, we are extremely sorry for the confusion surrounding his travel details. We completely understand how anxious you and your family must've been to meet their new family member and we send our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused. Logistics aside, we really appreciate you for trusting us to fetch your new puppy and look forward to updates as he grows.

I was skeptical about buying a puppy as…
I was skeptical about buying a puppy as we had just been scammed out of money for a Goldendoodle. It seems when talking about delivery after you have given them an exorbitant amount of money, they can't seem to give you a straight answer. Our puppies come on charters. We live on the ocean so the nearest airport is over an hour away. As retired airline employees who know a lot about airlines operations it just sounded bogus. I asked for our money back!

Linda - We are truly sorry to hear about your past experience trying to find a furry family member with a different company. Here at PuppySpot we take pride in being one of the most trusted name in dogs! We work tirelessly to maintain that title by not only working with vetted and licensed breeders, but by also making sure our puppies travel to their new homes as safely as possible. While we understand and respect your experience working within the airline industry, there are several factors to consider while booking animal air travel, including the fact that not all planes are equipped to transport animals safely. Though our method of travel may not be the most direct route for your puppy to travel home to you, we assure you it was a decision made with careful consideration and your puppy’s best interest in mind. Although our relationship has come to an end, we wish you the best in your journey to finding a new furry family member.

I would not recommend using PuppySpot
I would not recommend using PuppySpot. They are not transparent. It’s difficult getting in touch with breeders and finding out any information about them. After reading reviews about transport and how puppies were arriving home with infections, we decided to drive to the breeder and pick up our puppy ourselves. PuppySpot/the breeder refused to allow us to see where our puppy grew up. We had to meet the breeder at a train station to pick up our puppy. Supposedly our puppy had a vet health check before we got her and she had a clean Bill of health. However, once we took her home and took her to our vet, the vet immediately noticed our puppy had a yeast infection in both of her ears as well as an inverted vulva. Obviously you cannot trust the health checks PuppySpot provides you with. Do not use PuppySpot.

Rachel - Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Our puppies health is our top priority, which is why We were truly concerned to learn that your puppy was not feeling well shortly after she arrived. A member of our dedicated team has made several attempts to reach you via email and phone, to see how your pup is doing and explain our health guarantee, so that we may assist you. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to connect. Our service extends way beyond the delivery of your puppy, please know that we are here for you and hope to speak with you soon!

Our puppy suffered so much😢😢😢
“We make lives better by placing healthy puppies into happy homes. “
This is what this business claims. But this is a BIG LIE, PUPPIES ARE FROM PUPPY MILLS and the site does nothing to monitor or hold the breeders they use to account!
Our problems began from the very beginning. Originally the puppy we selected was advertised as a boy name Cody. About two days before we were supposed to receive it, we were told that it was a mistake, and that Cody is in fact a girl. We thought this was an odd mistake but did not think much of it and decided to move forward with the adoption. We have so much love to give and the pup needed a home. We named her Eevee.
The problems began shortly thereafter. Our sweet girl vas not growing! She started having diarrhea and would throw up no matter what we fed her. After numerous visits to the vet, she was diagnosed with an extrahepatic portosystemic shunt (a common genetic defect that arises from irresponsible breeding). It was at this point that we were referred to a surgeon.
An exploratory laparotomy was performed, and the aberrant shunt vessel was identified, however her caudal vena cava was absent cranial to the shunt. A liver biopsy was obtained and Eevee was recovered from anesthesia as the surgeon could not move forward.
An Abdominal CT scan subsequently performed the following day (8/11/20) to ensure that a shunt closure could be safely performed. She was found to have segmental aplasia of the caudal vena cava but the surgeon was able to plan accordingly and move forward.
Eevee was taken back to surgery on 8/12/20 and an ameroid constrictor was placed on the portocaval shunt vessel. This was Eevee’s second surgery in a 72-hour period, the incision spanned most of the length of her body.
At the time Eevee was 4.5 pounds and barely made it. The pain and suffering we had to endure was tremendous and her medical costs were approaching $10,000 (she is only 1.5 years old). She will likely still need medical attention her entire life! 😢
We then contacted Puppy Spot with our concerns, namely that Eevee had genetic disorders synonymous with irresponsible breeding. We explained that we used the site specifically to avoid a situation like this. We did not ask to return her but requested they provide some sort of refund for the purposes of helping with Eevee’s growing medical bills.
After longer than a month, numerous follow ups and after Puppy Spot’s own vets reviewed the medical records and agreed with us, we were made the following offer:
50% store credit from Eevee’s original purchase price to be applied to the next purchase of a new puppy from their site
OR
Monetary compensation in the amount of $587.50 representing ¼ of Eevee’s purchase price.
We were then told the offer is made as is and to just choose an option.
This was a complete slap in the face! They offered no sympathy, took zero responsibility for their lack of due diligence, and essentially dismissed us.
We originally went to this site knowing that we would end up paying a much higher price for a dog but that at least we would have some assurance that it was not bred in an irresponsible and amoral manner. We have learned our lesson the hard way. These guys are no different than a puppy mill. They do not do their due diligence; they do not seem to do anything to ensure that the animals are bred humanely. They could not even tell the difference between a boy dog and a girl dog.
Make no mistake, the animals advertised on the site are exactly the same as you would get from a puppy mill, they just found a gimmick that allows them to slap a much higher price tag on them. The irony that such a business would only further encourage the spread of puppy mills was not lost on us either.
Please do not EVER buy from them. These people are part of the problem. They are complete frauds!
Do your research better than us. Make sure to ask what steps are specifically being taken by any company making claims such as these to insure said claims are actually true and not just a marketing gimmick used to jack up the sticker price. Check the return policy, Puppy Spot gives you a whopping three days to discover and report any disorders such as this, this was a major red flag that we missed. Do not make the same mistakes we did, a puppy’s life could very well depend on it.

PuppySpot is definitely not a concierge…
PuppySpot is definitely not a concierge service! They are a puppy broker that wants your money and once they get it you have to pull teeth to get information from them. You ask a question & you get canned responses. They do not follow up on any of their promises. They told us we would get pics of our puppy every two weeks, Every single time they failed to meet that unless we asked twice & they always seem annoyed that your asking them for anything. Our puppy was supposed to be here already but when I try to find out what's going on all they can say is hey we don't have the info yet, so when we know you will know. They don't like to be bothered by their customers once they get your money. Very frustrating experience & would not recommend.

Puppyspot is dishonest.
*I see this has been reported by PuppySpot so I emailed Trust Pilot proof I am a real customer*
Update: On 10/17 we found out our puppy is missing a toe pad on his hind leg. Vet to examine on his next visit on 11/3 to determine if genetic. PuppySpot or breeder did not inform us of this. Puppy Spot said they’d contact the breeder for more info.
Puppyspot is dishonest.
Starting with their ads, which almost all mention getting to talk to the breeder. The truth is, they DON'T want you to know who the supposed "top breeder" is. AFTER I paid, they told me they'll arrange a call with the breeder, but gave me the run around every time I followed up, and finally admitted they wouldn't reveal the breeder until we get the puppy, due to some UNWRITTEN (it's nowhere on the website) policy to "protect" the breeder! I guess they got tired of me asking about the breeder, because a "Puppy Manager" sent me a quote she claimed was from the breeder's website. I could tell it was canned. Reverse search yielded NOTHING (later find out the breeder does NOT have a website or any Social Media account for their business...just a single review from two years ago, that is bad). Since I was already committed to the puppy, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that they vet their breeders like they claim. Well, my puppy arrived on time, friendly and clean (he's a good boy and we love him), BUT when we took him to the vet 1) They couldn’t find his microchip 2) we were told he had Cryptorchidism (hereditary), meaning his testicles had not descended like they should have. I would have accepted this info upfront, but the breeder's vet LIED on his health form and checked the box "NO" next to whether testicles were UNdescended! What else was falsified? Unfortunately, our vet could also only find one testicle, so he will likely need to have surgery to search his abdomen when he's neutered (which will likely take place way before the ideal time for Standard Poodles over one year, closer to two...to avoid Cancer). This is supposed to be covered, but it will still be a stressful experience for all of us and potentially dangerous experience for our puppy. Now that I paid, and he's home, they really don't care that I STILL have not been able to reach his "reputable" breeder (she has ignored my call and voicemail, and PuppySpot has not responded to the last message I sent days ago. It still shows as "unread" on the app. You'd think they'd have a solid package, down to the customer service with all you pay, (ends up being more than twice what you'd pay the breeder, plus transportation and "follow up" from AKC to swindle another $800). I have not interest in grilling the breeder. All I want is some peace of mind. They claim to make a "no puppy mills promise", but based on what I've read from customer's getting sick, dirty puppies, and learning of their bad breeders, and unfortunately my experience, why should I believe that? I also found it strange that my puppy shipped from Missouri (I learned is "puppy mill capital", when my breeder is in TX). Save yourself the stress and do the right thing by either going to a reputable breeder (after thorough research), OR adopt from a rescue where at least the intentions are good and honest.

Drugged, Respiratory infec, Giardia, Mange
Our puppy arrived drugged, it was in a van with many other deliveries the driver told us. Not a peep from van, all drugged. He had an upper respiratory infection. Got him to vet day after delivery. Also had Giardia from fecal sample and mange. Could we have any other problems. And yes Puppy spot, Despite Your assurances that my puppy was not drugged I beg to differ! He most certainly had been given something by those drivers! And what a pair they were. Buyers beware!
