Awful experience. Poor puppy. Zero communication on day of supposed delivery. Hope the poor puppy is doing okay after hours of being trapped in a cage traveling all day. It’s late at night now and still no news from PuppySpot. Ashen we contact them (or attempt to contact them but can’t get through) they tell us to contact the “freight” company who also gives us runaround and tells us to contact puppy spot.

This is my second experience with Puppy…
This is my second experience with Puppy Spot. The first time we bought a Boston Terrier and the puppy came with parasites. I spent more than $200 in medical assistance, laboratory and medicines. I'm still waiting for Puppy Spot answer. This time, we bought another Boston Terrier, this time the puppy came with a blue stain in his right eye which is a genetic imperfection and nobody mentioned anything about. Now I have a week dealing with this issue and nobody is taking responsibility. My veterinarian is telling there's nothing to do since is a genetic abnormality called heterochromia. The puppy is beautiful, don't get me wrong but I wish I had the chance to decide if we want a puppy with this abnormality. Well, puppy spot and the breeder they though they had the right to decide for my family and that's my complaint. Two puppies with 4 year difference and we got issues with both. This is not casual, this means something is wrong with managing and the way they deal with customer, at least in my case. To me is not honest the fact they kept this sensitive information regarding the puppy. And I'm still waiting for the answer................

Puppy Spot is a good source for those
Puppy Spot is a good source for those looking for a pure bred puppy. Their upfront pictures and information are well done. However, the back end after they have made their sale, is lacking. My puppy arrived with Kennel cough. The 24/7 number did not respond until late the next day. I incurred vet costs with no recompense. David who handled the sale told me to reach out to him with any questions or problems. He never responded. Barbara Thornburg

Barbara - The well-being of our puppies is always our top priority, so we were very concerned to learn that your little one arrived with a cough. We always stand behind our puppies and our health guarantee, which is why our service extends well beyond the delivery of a puppy and we have a dedicated health team to help. As soon as we received your feedback, a member of our Management team quickly reached out to see how we can help. Although it appears as though you're no longer interested in accepting our team's offered assistance, please know that we will continue to be here as you need us should you change your mind.

Purchased a puppy a month ago
Purchased a puppy a month ago. Paid ALOT for it and now puppy spot is ignoring all my attempts to communicate. They will not deliver!!!! I'll make sure puppy spot hears my reviews all over the internet.
Response from PuppySpotNov 11, 2020
Robert - We are deeply troubled to learn that you have such a negative impression of PuppySpot. It’s part of our process to confirm travel details with puppy parents 24-48 hours before a puppy is scheduled to travel. We apologize if this in-between time may feel as if we’ve stopped communicating, but please be rest assured, this is not the case. We're working hard to ensure everything is prepared for your new furry family member to travel safely. Once we received your feedback our team quickly connected with you to learn more about your experience and see how we can do better in the future. Despite your frustrations to date, we will continue to be here for you until your puppy is home safe and sound, and throughout your puppy parent journey!

Concerned For The P.
PuppySpot Supports Puppy Mills.. either through willful negligence or gross incompetence.
A close relative of mine was duped into getting a puppy earlier this year, who arrived underweight, with multiple infections and parasites. I did some of my own investigating on the ‘reputable’ breeder the puppy came from, and he is a direct relative of an Amish puppy mill owner who has a 20 year history of animal cruelty charges from his puppy mill practices. I’m certain it’s a family business. The parasites the puppy had often come from living in crowded conditions. My relative is happy with the puppy despite this, but I am concerned about the long term health of the puppy due to its origins. Puppyspot, you need to work on investigating your breeders better. It took me almost no time at all to uncover loads of disturbing information about this puppy’s breeder/his family. Don’t exploit people’s loneliness like this. Even if that wasn’t the intent, it is the outcome when you don’t actually do your homework on your so-called reputable breeders.
Just check the employee reviews on indeed.com. The kind, helpful ‘pet consierge’ —who helps you get your puppy— is paid on commission, and gets fired if they fail to sell a certain number of puppies within a particular timeframe, which forces them to rush the puppy sales. Employees mention struggling to meet ‘impossible quotas.’ Employees also allude to the use of puppy mills.
Buyer beware. Be patient and adopt from a local shelter, or adopt through petfinder.com shelter networks... or find a local TRULY reputable breeder and remove the middle man. Cut out sketchy, unethical businesses who exploit puppies forced to live in filth, force the mothers to be bred literally to death, and who exploit your family’s loneliness, either through their willful negligence and greed or complete ineptitude.
You shouldn’t be able to pick out a puppy online as quickly and easily as a pair of shoes. Remember that.
Continue to remember that as you find any of their canned responses to negative consumer reviews here and on the Better Business Bureau customer complaint section. Their concern is more scripted than sincere. The sheer number of people suggesting illnesses one finds primarily in a puppy mill setting should tell you something. This isn’t an anomaly or one tragic mistake. It just is how they do business, and who they do business with.
PuppySpot, if you attempt to respond to me, I have nothing to say to you. You exploited someone I care about who is otherwise completely alone. Now I have to worry for the next few years if their heart will be broken because you couldn’t actually investigate your breeders properly. You support some very unethical breeders who treat their animals worse than livestock.
You don’t need to know which specific customer my review is about, or which puppy. Just look at all the reviews here saying the same things I am. It’s not about THIS puppy. It’s about ALL the sketchy puppy mills you work with. All of these similar complaints say something. I just happen to also have proof of the puppy mill connections in our case. And if I could find it that easily, so can you. You absolutely should have found it. It is inexcusable that you didn’t, and no amount of canned consumer relations responses is going to change that.
And you can bet I reported you and that breeder to multiple animal welfare services.
Do your damn homework, puppyspot. And prospective buyers... just don’t go here. Please.

Completely fraudulent company
Completely fraudulent company! I paid $5000 for a designer dog breed (Pomsky). After 3 months my dog reached max size for a Pomsky and I did a DNA test after talking to the after care team at Puppy Spot (another $130). Upon receiving the DNA results and seeing my dog was a TOTAL mutt I called Puppy Spot back and sent them the results. The person I spoke to said they would get back to me in 2 weeks. 1.5 months later I received an email saying they had a resolution. The resolution was that they would not be refunding me anything! This is fraud. My dog matched with another dog on Embark (the DNA test I did) and their dog was a match for being a sibling that they also bought on Puppy Spot. Now we have 2 dogs from the same breeder, purchased through Puppy Spot that was a mutt. Puppy Spot is refusing to do anything to rectify this situation.
As you can see below they’re trying to claim I’m not a customer. Total BS.

Kimberly - We work incredibly hard to provide puppy parents with a transparent, responsible, and trusted way to find a furry family member so feedback like this is taken very seriously. Unfortunately, we are confused by your feedback as we do not have any records of you purchasing a Pomsky from us. We have requested some additional information from you in case the account may be under a different name. We look forward to hearing from you. - Thanks for providing the additional information. We apologize for the confusion as the name you just provided is different from the name listed on the review, which is what caused the mix-up. Our team has been trying to reach out to you since November 6th to address your concerns but we haven't been able to connect. Please give our After-care team a call at your earliest convenience: 855-370-3006.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!
“We make lives better by placing healthy puppies into happy homes. “
This is what this business claims. But this is a BIG LIE, PUPPIES ARE FROM PUPPY MILLS and the site does nothing to monitor or hold the breeders they use to account!
Our problems began from the very beginning. Originally the puppy we selected was advertised as a boy name Cody. About two days before we were supposed to receive it, we were told that it was a mistake, and that Cody is in fact a girl. We thought this was an odd mistake but did not think much of it and decided to move forward with the adoption. We have so much love to give and the pup needed a home. We named her Eevee.
The problems began shortly thereafter. Our sweet girl vas not growing! She started having diarrhea and would throw up no matter what we fed her. After numerous visits to the vet, she was diagnosed with an extrahepatic portosystemic shunt (a common genetic defect that arises from irresponsible breeding). It was at this point that we were referred to a surgeon.
An exploratory laparotomy was performed, and the aberrant shunt vessel was identified, however her caudal vena cava was absent cranial to the shunt. A liver biopsy was obtained and Eevee was recovered from anesthesia as the surgeon could not move forward.
An Abdominal CT scan subsequently performed the following day (8/11/20) to ensure that a shunt closure could be safely performed. She was found to have segmental aplasia of the caudal vena cava but the surgeon was able to plan accordingly and move forward.
Eevee was taken back to surgery on 8/12/20 and an ameroid constrictor was placed on the portocaval shunt vessel. This was Eevee’s second surgery in a 72-hour period, the incision spanned most of the length of her body.
At the time Eevee was 4.5 pounds and barely made it. The pain and suffering we had to endure was tremendous and her medical costs were approaching $10,000 (she is only 1.5 years old). She will likely still need medical attention her entire life! 😢
We then contacted Puppy Spot with our concerns, namely that Eevee had genetic disorders synonymous with irresponsible breeding. We explained that we used the site specifically to avoid a situation like this. We did not ask to return her but requested they provide some sort of refund for the purposes of helping with Eevee’s growing medical bills.
After longer than a month, numerous follow ups and after Puppy Spot’s own vets reviewed the medical records and agreed with us, we were made the following offer:
50% store credit from Eevee’s original purchase price to be applied to the next purchase of a new puppy from their site
OR
Monetary compensation in the amount of $587.50 representing ¼ of Eevee’s purchase price.
We were then told the offer is made as is and to just choose an option.
This was a complete slap in the face! They offered no sympathy, took zero responsibility for their lack of due diligence, and essentially dismissed us.
We originally went to this site knowing that we would end up paying a much higher price for a dog but that at least we would have some assurance that it was not bred in an irresponsible and amoral manner. We have learned our lesson the hard way. These guys are no different than a puppy mill. They do not do their due diligence; they do not seem to do anything to ensure that the animals are bred humanely. They could not even tell the difference between a boy dog and a girl dog.
Make no mistake, the animals advertised on the site are exactly the same as you would get from a puppy mill, they just found a gimmick that allows them to slap a much higher price tag on them. The irony that such a business would only further encourage the spread of puppy mills was not lost on us either.
Please do not EVER buy from them. These people are part of the problem. They are complete frauds!
Do your research better than us. Make sure to ask what steps are specifically being taken by any company making claims such as these to insure said claims are actually true and not just a marketing gimmick used to jack up the sticker price. Check the return policy, Puppy Spot gives you a whopping three days to discover and report any disorders such as this, this was a major red flag that we missed. Do not make the same mistakes we did, a puppy’s life could very well depend on it.

Christine - We are disappointed to learn you have such a negative view about your experience with PuppySpot, as that is never how we want any member of our community feel after welcoming home a new furry family member. While we don't believe it is productive to publicly address every point in your feedback, we would like to make it point to state that PuppySpot does not and has never worked with a puppy mill or substandard breeding practices of any kind. Every member of our breeder community must pass a comprehensive, proprietary 100+ point screening process that goes above and beyond USDA and state regulations. For that very reason, we accept fewer than 10% of all potential breeder applicants. We were also confused by your feedback as our management team has been actively working with you to see how we can assist and come to an amicable resolution. We will continue to be here for you until we have addressed and resolved your concerns.

Don’t be fooled by Puppyspot’s promises
Oh my gosh Puppyspot is sooo disappointing. I haven’t felt so outraged in a while. The “puppy managers” you first interact with do a nice job. You will like Puppyspot when dealing with them - or atleast I mostly did. But once you pay for your puppy, the “concierge” part goes into the dumpster and you are left feeling like a scammed fool. You will be emailing and calling and emailing for the simplest question or bit of information. There is no way to actually get through you are lucky someone who seems to be from a call center somewhere will call you a week later and give you some response before getting you off the phone. I am so glad to read these other posts that confirm my crazy horrible experience with Puppyspot. I am praying our puppy works out but the company is a disaster and don’t be fooled.

Clarisse - While we are happy that your puppy arrived healthy and happy, we are truly sorry for what sounds like a very frustrating experience and one that we never want a new puppy parent to have. Adding a puppy to your home should be a joyful experience and it's disappointing to know we let you down. Shortly after receiving your feedback, a member of our team tried to reach out to learn more and see how we can do better in the future, but unfortunately, we were unable to connect with you. We always want to make sure our puppy parents are happy and receive the tailored customer service that we strive to provide. After receiving your feedback, we reviewed our records and required all related team members to attend mandatory re-training to understand where we may have failed to meet your expectations to better serve our community. Despite your frustrations to date, we will continue to be here whenever you need us.
