As a small time breeder of Cardigans and Poodles I was surprised by the extremely high prices and my business mind said: "hey dummy, get involved with this deal!" I am not saying do or do not do business but do a little research before you spend $2500 for a $1500 puppy that only comes with limited registration and the basic legal requirements for any dog breeder. Good marketing does not equal a good deal. After spending several hours researching everything they brag about on their website I realized that if I lowered my current standards as a breeder I would meet their minimum standards and that I could make about $1000 to $1500 extra per pup. Of course, maybe I should give it go anyway. After all, my personal standards far exceed their minimum standards and it would be an extra $20,000 a year!

I got a golden retriever from this website with little knowledge going into it. She has been the best thing in my life, but there were many issues when we first got her. She was a little bit off when we brought her to her vet visit and then we found out pretty early that she had giardia. Giardia is a intestinal infection caused by a parasite that can be due close contact with other animals. After doing some research I found out that it would most likely be due to puppy mills. Puppyspot claims to not have these, but it is very hard to believe them... I would not recommend this place.

I bought a West Highland Terrier from Puppy Spot in April 2018. I am very familiar with this breed having had 6 others in my lifetime. When we picked him up from the airport he was scratching a bit and I said to my husband that I hoped he did not have allergies. He is 10 months old now and is showing signs of very bad allergies at this time. So sad for him and for us as dealing with this for his lifetime will be a struggle for us all not to mention the suffering he will go through. As for his personality, he is the cutest thing ever and we are so in love with him. We are heartbroken to think that he is going to live his life with this condition. I would not buy a puppy from PuppySpot again and would go through AKC Marketplace. Would have done that in the first place but was not aware of it.

Don't get me wrong. My pup is now 10 weeks old and she is GREAT! However, Puppyspot is there to help pick out your puppy and make sure you're very happy up front, but the moment you confirm you are left out to dry. I tried several times and left several messages for the travel person to respond to me after I was notified that the plans had been changed. She sent me a new time to pick up the pup but no flight info. When I emailed back she sent me the original info. Left several messages and she only emailed back with new info and NO apology. Bottom line is once you purchase your pup there is NO customer service!

I bought 2 dogs from them a year apart - both are great dogs BUT - the second one had Giardiasis upon its vet check when I got her - so that meant both dogs had to have meds for this - and the vet required a second physical on the new pup once she was through the med cycle - Puppyspot would only pay for the new pup's meds - not for the older dog's or for the followup visit - as a consequence - they've lost a customer and anyone I may have recommended - the dog's are fine..... great dogs and very happy with them - just didn't like the way they handled this - and - FYI - if you can figure out who the breeder is that your pup will come from - you can get it for about 50% of what they charge
