Love our Puppy
We love Mack, our furry, fun, Pembroke Welch Corgi. However, he was very expensive which lead me to believe the experience would be next to perfect. I discovered Mack myself, which is how I became involved with PuppySpot. Lisa was very nice, responded quickly with pictures of parents, and spoke highly of the kennel. When I asked about the kennel and where the puppy was coming from, I received a very general answer of "Indiana" and didn't receive enough information to research the kennel. I did receive the updated pictures/videos every 2 weeks on the app, but there apparently is no way to save the videos to your personal albums. When I tried to ask questions through the app, I seemed to get a general response that didn't address my specific puppy. The courier experience was great. Our driver kept me updated as to the time of arrival (notifying me when he was running late) and delivered Mack to our front door on a Sat. morning. Mack was very social and cute from the start! Sadly, it was discovered by our veterinarian on Tuesday that Mack had a severe case of giardia that has taken 4 weeks to completely cure. I have noticed that other PuppySpot users have had this same problem with the rote response of puppies being examined "nose to tail" before they are released. I feel these cases of parasites were clearly present and not reported. When I responded to the email from PuppySpot that Mack was immediately loved and seemed to be doing fine in his new home but had arrived with parasites, the response was PuppySpot was glad Mack was happy and adjusting well... no mention of the parasite problem... to which I responded that the issue of parasites was not addressed. Overall good experience. Mack is now healthy, but I don't have a lot of confidence in the medical examination that is done before releasing a puppy. Bottom Line: If Mack had arrived in perfect health, everything would have been just about perfect and I would never have reason to question the process. However, since he did have a parasite (and I notice others who have had health issues with their puppy that should not have been missed by an honest health check before releasing the puppy), I question the reliability of the health exam.
