Chose a puppy - when the Advisor called to 'qualify' us - asked if we knew the breed - we did not - suggested it would eat the house if left alone - we decided to pass but they already took the deposit online. Kept $450 even though only 9 hours passed since the transaction.
Bought a second puppy of a breed we were familiar with - they would not give us credit for the first puppy (eventually did give us a $250 credit). Travel for second puppy was only going to be AIR CARGO - no thank you. We had to arrange our own travel for the 2000 mile trip and still had to pay $200 for their 'service'. I had to call them half-dozen times to get them to schedule the hand off from breeder. Very poor follow up.

RM - Northern California - Welcoming home a furry family member should be full of joy and we're disappointed that you have negative feelings about your experience. A member of our Management team has been trying to reach you to learn more and see how we could help. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to connect. We would love the opportunity to turn your experience around. We hope to speak with you soon.

Poor transport scheduling
We love our new puppy and the breeder was great. Through no fault of breeder, We ended up personally picking up our puppy (4000 mile round trip) because after two weeks from purchase we could Not get a commitment From PuppySpot for when transport would occur.

D Widman - Thanks for your candid feedback, without it we wouldn’t be able to improve and do our very best for our puppies and puppy parents. While our travel team works very hard to coordinate with your breeder to accommodate your preferred arrival date for your pup, it can sometimes be tricky and take a little longer than expected. Although we did provide a tentative date for your pup to travel, you made us aware that you no longer wanted to wait and would rather pick up your puppy, to which our team was happy to help accommodate. We are thrilled to hear how much your puppy is already loved, and we would love nothing more than for you to be happy with your experience too. A member of our Management team has been trying to reach you to learn more about your experience. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Beware of communication trouble and inconsistent info once you make a purchase
Updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars --- after follow up from Will Bravo on behalf of PuppySpot. Will managed to issue the cancellation and apologized for all the issues. The only reason for upping to 3 stars is related to Will's willingness to help me (my rating is not a reflection of the PuppySpot business operations overall. Executives, you should be thankful to Will). PuppySpot executives should consider a different customer service framework, where a designated Puppy Manager manages a portfolio of customers. There's a lot of investment focused on sales team, rigorously following up to get you to close the deal. But very poor service once you've made a purchase. Changing to a model with a designated Puppy Manager would ensure customers receive real ongoing support and consistent info on their puppy. This would also ensure an agent follows through on information/promises they make (such as to connect customers to the breeder, connecting you to the right departments, confirm dates, follow-up on travel arrangements and health questions). Your Puppy Manager call center currently tries to rush through each call (likely because they're benchmarked against call volume or speed), so there's low focus on being able to actually answer the customer's questions (e.g, on two different call occasions, the agent explicitly mentioned I have other calls to get through). I'd also highly encourage PuppySpot update their policies to support connecting customers to ask questions from the breeder.
Original review:
Communication has been atrocious after they process your payment. First few days there's just no response or information. When you keep chasing up for info on the puppyspot app or call centre, you get a different person each time and get inconsistent information.
One person says they will try to put you in touch with the breeder, another agent says it's against policy, another agent says travel date is confirmed, then another agent says travel hasn't been organized.
We're now trying to cancel the purchase because the service feels like a scam, but getting the runaround. When you call, they say it's a separate accounts department but they can't transfer you to that department (instead you have to wait for the accounts department to call you). Then...radio silence, no call from accounts/billing. Call again to chase up cancellation and the agent puts me to puppy sales instead.
Feels like another runaround, to prevent customers cancelling after they've processed $4.5k in payment without a guarantee you'll get the puppy.
We'll be filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and seeking legal advice if there's no accountability.

Angel - thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and allowing Will the chance to better understand your concerns. We are very happy to hear he was able to assist and make your experience just a little bit better. Your feedback is very important to us and we will definitely use it to provide a better service to our community.

My experience so far..
We are still in the process of getting our puppy. The service was great until we paid. We have been requesting for our puppy pictures for last couple of weeks and haven’t received any. We were told that the pictures and videos are updated every 10 days. We received an automated message about receiving our puppy next week. Hoping the process will be smooth. Overall for the price we pay the service is bad.

Too anxious to sell
I’ve not yet received Piper ( she comes in a few days When I called to purchase Piper Paul the salesman said she would be about 22 pounds This was perfect but yesterday the breeder called and mentioned she would be 12 pounds give or take. Well, that’s a big difference particularly because we live in the mountains and that small of a dog is a risk. I thought about canceling but already in love. I can’t believe he was so wrong about her size. Why didn’t he call the breeder and call me back with better and more accurate info? I’m not pleased

Devon - While we are happy to report that Piper is now home safe and sound, we were truly concerned with your feedback. Although we cannot guarantee the size, weight or even adult coat color of any of our puppies, as they are living, breathing beings, each with different genetic makeup, we apologize for the improper expecatation setting at the beginning of your journey. Once we received your feedback a member of our after-care team connected with you to learn more. Your feedback is important to us, not only because we take our role seriously and want you to have the best experience possible, but also because it gives us a chance to learn and improve. Your relationship with PuppySpot began when your puppy arrived home, so you should never hesitate to reach out if there's anything you ever need.

Transparency
I love my puppy, but didn't feel PuppySpot provided a lot of transparency before she came home to be about how she was being raised by the breeder or what was happening with her vet checks. I had to specifically ask to speak to the breeder and request photos. I wish there had been more visibility into how she was and when (and how) she was coming home to me. It felt like there wasn't much prep or communication.

Eve - Thanks very much for your feedback and we're thrilled that your puppy is already so loved. However, we want to apologize that your expectations for your puppy's travel arrangements were not properly set. Our team works hard to thoroughly communicate with our puppy parents regarding every aspect of their puppy, including travel details along the way. It is our standard protocol to confirm travel accommodations 24-48 hours before a puppy is scheduled to travel to his or her new home. We do this to give your breeder enough time to complete our mandatory pre-flight health check performed by a licensed veterinarian and to ensure your puppy has met the proper weight and age requirement to safely travel home. Until the above requirements are met, we can only provide a tentative date for your puppy to travel, as we did with you. We are always happy to connect our prospective puppy parents with their puppy's breeder via conference call before a puppy arrives and then more directly shortly after and we apoligize if this option wasn't properly explained, before your request. Our relationship with you has just begun and our team will continue to be here for you whenever you need us.

Love my puppy but disappointed in the process
It's tough to rate this 3 stars because I love my new puppy so much. However, if I'm being honest, I was disappointed with the communication around the travel plans (where I was supposed to go to pick her up and when) and also the fact that the puppy had to travel more than 10 hours as cargo with more than 4 touchdowns/layovers. Lastly, after my puppy's first vet visit, her stool sample came back as being exposed to giardia and so she had to be put on medication for the next 10 days. So as much as I love our new family member, I was disappointed in the process.

You don’t always get what you pay for
The initial discussions and sale went smoothly and was helpful, but I felt that after puppyspot had my money the good service stopped. The app never updated with pictures even after requesting them several times. Specific questions I asked were answered with generic answers.
The puppy was transported a full week and a day after he was eligible to come to me. He didn’t get his vet check until he was already eligible to transport based on age and weight and he was due for vaccinations at his vet exam, which he did not receive, so he did not come “up to date” on vaccines as guaranteed. His initial vaccine was given by the breeder too young (5weeks) so my vet said according to vaccine standards we would have to start the vaccines over. An umbilical hernia was discovered prior to transport but I wasn’t notified until the close of buisness the night before he was due to be picked up in the early morning of the next day so I was told accept him the way he is at your expense or we have to delay the transport for potentially several weeks while the breeder deals with it.
Overall, For the price I paid, I was very disappointed with the several problems that arose and PuppySpot’s handling of it.
