Got our Puppy on Expected Date
I know a lot of people wonder if these reviews are real. This one really is, so I'll try to share the ups and downs of this experience. Sales Experience - 5 Stars Making the purchase was simple, communication at this stage is extremely high touch and feels great. Our pup matched pictures and video perfectly. Post Sales to Delivery - 3 Stars Communication at this stage drops off significantly, it's clear the teams involved in this stage are under staffed, overly reliant in automated processes, and trying to keep their heads above water by deflecting call volume and emails. Expectations are not communicated clearly and you're left to trust the process will work. For me, the process did work out fine, but in week 2 of the wait, reading negative reviews and not being able to talk to at PuppySpot directly created a lot of anxiety and concern that maybe I had been scammed. I can see that if something went off the rails, it would be extremely difficult to get the support needed to resolve. Delivery - 4 Stars Our puppy arrived on the expected date at the expected location. Expected communication (confirmation the night before) did not occur, we did not know for sure our puppy was coming until getting a text the morning of from the driver. Our puppy arrived clean, safe, and very happy to see us. Summary I'd say this would be a 5 star experience if they could just resolve the interim stress with stronger communication, and make sure that they have capacity to resolve things when they do go wrong. The white glove comms of sales is great but then going to the "we'll call you don't call us" mentality of the delivery and support is jarring, stressful and unnecessary. In the end, it all worked out for us and we couldn't be happier with our puppy, but I unless I saw that they were improving the comms in this middle stage, I'd be wary about a purchase given fear of what might happen if things went of the rails. I'd pay a premium to have a dedicated rep that carried through to the delivery - I'm sure others would too. Hope they can resolve these shortcomings in the future - but the most important thing is that we love our pup!
