This is my third inquiry as to the performance of puppy spot. While the sales individual did a very good job, the support for puppy spot is poor. It seems the puppy spot only cares about sales with people who speak and understand English very well. When it comes to support it’s a different experience altogether. Our dog was late two weeks and we were notified after puppy spot was notified by several days. We are taking our dog to the vet today for his first visit which is 24 hours after receipt. We will find out more about his condition and if need be notify puppy spot. As it is right now, we will not recommend your business and may encourage others to not seek to do business with puppy spot.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your experience with support did not meet your expectations. We’ve attempted to reach you to better understand your concerns but haven’t been able to connect yet. Please contact us at your convenience so we can discuss this further.
We recently purchased two puppies through PuppySpot, and while the website itself was very easy to navigate, the overall experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing.
The online search process was simple, and I was able to locate not one, but two puppies that appeared to be near our location so we could pick them up ourselves. Communication throughout the process is primarily done through text messaging, but there are multiple different numbers and representatives involved, so you never really know who you are actually speaking with.
The only direct phone call I received was the night we were ready to make payment. I spoke with Johnny, who made several promises that ultimately were not accurate. He told us the breeder was located in Indianapolis and that pickup would take place in Indianapolis, which worked perfectly for us since we live just under three hours away. I also specifically asked whether each puppy would come with a bag of food and a toy or blanket with the mother’s scent. I was assured, “of course.”
Five days before pickup, I realized I had not received confirmation of the exact time and location, so I reached out. That’s when I was informed that pickup would actually be in Losantville, Indiana — about four hours away. We were told that if we wanted pickup in Indianapolis, it would cost an additional $250. This was extremely disappointing, as the Indianapolis location was one of the main reasons we decided to move forward with the purchase.
We decided to continue anyway, booked a hotel near Losantville, and arrived early the next morning to pick up the puppies. Unfortunately, PuppySpot provided the wrong address for the breeder. I attempted to call the breeder multiple times but was unable to reach anyone. I also tried calling PuppySpot, only to learn they are closed on weekends.
We ended up driving to four different houses in the middle of Amish country in Indiana trying to locate these puppies. After more than an hour of searching, we finally located the breeder on a very remote farm.
When we arrived, the puppies were dirty and soiled. Additionally, one of the puppies’ paperwork listed him as Maltese/Shih Tzu, even though they were sold to us as pure Maltese. Only very small bags of food were provided — no toy, no blanket, and nothing with the mother’s scent as we had been promised.
After bringing the puppies home, we sent a detailed message to PuppySpot outlining our concerns and frustrations, but no one reached out to us.
Three days later, we took the puppies to their first veterinary appointment. Both puppies were diagnosed with Giardia and yeast infections in their ears despite having received a clean bill of health from the breeder’s veterinarian just five days earlier.
I emailed PuppySpot to ask how to submit a claim since their health guarantee states that if a puppy is diagnosed with a parasite or infection within 14 days of purchase, they will cover veterinary bills up to the cost of the puppy. I never received a response to those emails. I eventually had to call customer service to speak with someone, who then directed me to an online claim form.
I submitted all requested documentation and again waited weeks without hearing anything. After calling again, I was asked to provide additional paperwork that was not listed in their contract. I complied and sent everything they requested. After another weeks I finally received a refund on my credit card.
While we absolutely love our puppies, the experience surrounding their purchase was disorganized, misleading, and stressful. Buyers should be aware that communication inconsistencies, last-minute location changes, and health concerns may occur despite the assurances provided during the purchasing process.

They gave my puppy away to someone else
I found a puppy for my family and paid in full. I talked with the team at puppy spot and completed some paperwork. They said that they would reach out to me in a couple days to work out the pickup details. 2 days later they called to tell me the breeder gave my puppy, that I paid for to someone else. Their attempt to rectify the situation was to offer me a $200 dollar credit towards the purchase of another puppy. This felt like a slap in the face and honestly ruined my families weekend. I was unable to leave a review of the breeder on the site, “Mary from Fresno Ohio”. Puppyspot says this counted against the breeder but they are still listed as a star breeder. I gave two stars for honesty about what had happened as they could have came up with any number of lies to tell me. And the lady that I talked to with customer service was very nice.

Puppy great: Puppy spot needs training
The initial contact was excellent . The sales contact from David / Utah was thorough . He explained how I would receive this follow up from Puppy Spot relevant to important matters . The important follow up from a buyer was non existent . David was my only real, effective voice in this important process of acquiring a puppy from a different state. The breeder told me what I experienced was usual from puppy spot. I drive to Indiana from Ohio to meet the Breeder … all that worked out fine and my beautiful Lab puppy is very nice. Puppy Spot needs to be more than a website with posts of puppies and a sales process . The interim communication is what makes a company effective … Puppy Spot receives a D- for this part of the equation . Puppy Spot needs to be more than what they are … . Please , puppy buyers deserve more .

It was a meh service
It was a meh service. When you call you’re redirected to people who work from home. They are not professional and until the dog was delivered I was whole heartedly assured that it was a scam.
They inflate shipping costs. Put add ons you cannot remove.
I love the purchase but I would not use them again.

PuppySpot is NOT for everyone.
PuppySpot is NOT for everyone.
I’ll start by saying this: our puppy is the most beautiful, sweet boy in the world, and we have zero regrets about adding him to our family. That said, I would think twice before recommending PuppySpot.
The overall process is fast, and receiving your puppy is generally smooth. However, if you’re looking for transparency—detailed information about the breeder, the parents, or your puppy’s health before delivery—then PuppySpot is not for you.
Information about the breeder and health history is extremely vague, despite the very high price point. PuppySpot promises a “nose-to-tail” health check prior to delivery, but it’s unclear what that actually includes. When we received Mocha, he had two types of worm parasites, ear and skin mites, kennel cough, and what appeared to be two healing broken ribs—none of which were disclosed to us beforehand. While I understand that puppies can arrive with health issues, it felt like Mocha arrived with everything, yet his paperwork stated he was cleared.
For the cost, we expected far more transparency and honesty than what we experienced.
Additionally, once payment is complete, communication drops off significantly. The representative who was responsive early on became difficult to reach, the promised FaceTime to meet our puppy never happened, and getting detailed answers to questions was frustrating. Most communication afterward felt generic—delivery timelines, pet insurance upsells, and basic prep checklists—nothing personal or tailored.
So again, if you are looking for full transparency, detailed breeder information, and clear health disclosures before delivery, PuppySpot is not the right choice.

Stressful
Stressful. Lack of communication. Waiting until the last minute as to find out instructions for pickup by the owner! It sucked!
I believe the puppy came from a puppy mill. He only wants to stay outside. He's not familiar with being around people and he stinks. I had the family coming today to meet him. But instead, I have to have him groomed today.
