Once we paid, there was a lack of communication on when we could expect to receive our puppy. After many attempts to contact via phone and email, finally received an email with information. Then, the puppy was assigned to arrive the day before Thanksgiving, and since we would have to drive 3 hours to an airport on one of the busiest fly days of the year, I felt there was a lack of appropriate planning. When we did get our puppy, we took her to the vet the next day with a poop sample. She had Giardia. I don't know how she received a clean vet certificate with this issue. We spent hundreds of dollars on exams, lab fees, and medicine to cure her of the Giardia.

Poor communications. It was never explained to me at the time of purchase that puppies are shipped only on thursdays. Then we were told that puppies aren’t flown if the temp was under45 degrees only to get confirmation later that puppies are flown. We were also told that the handler accompanying the dog would call us 48 hours prior to flight. No one ever called. Airline personnel went to get her for us upon arrival. The woman I initially talked to was wonderful but after that it was very frustrating. We live over 2 hours from the airport and due to an engagement that we had to attend we were not able to go on the first Thursday. Had we known that Thursday was the only day that dogs are flown we could have made other arrangements .I had even called prior to sending the email about Thursday to ask if they had any idea when they were looking to send our puppy home. Our answer was no , we would be notified. Then only to read a few hours later that the puppys flight was cancelled. We love our puppy and would not hesitate to purchase off if that breeder again , however puppy spot needs much improvement. Everytime I placed a call it was at least 1/2 hour wait or was told no puppy managers were available.

Total lack of communication and accessibility. Trying to get a hold of someone was impossible and even when I did get a hold of a “puppy manager” they were unable to answer my questions or requests and told me someone would call me back which no one ever did!! They also did not prepare me for the state my puppy would be in. Yes, I was told to have nutrocal on hand but I was not prepared for my pup to be in shock!! Ended up in emergency vet fist night d/t puppy being in shock!! Lots of money later my puppy is doing great now!

First time buying a puppy through this company. I thought I was being scammed nearly the entire time. Knowing I had forked out so much money before receiving my pupp was not fun. It would be more comforting to put down a non refundable deposit initially until you receive your dog then the remaining balance owed upon arrival. I did not like I could not contact the breeder myself because it was a bit hard to communicate to consultants via the puppy spot app. Most times they were not available. I did not get my puppy on time due to breeder not talking her to pre flight check up on time so that delayed her arrival by a couple weeks. Therefore she was much bigger than originally pictured when we received her. The punch to the stomach was picking her up at the airport after flying from Chicago to Florida. She was never taken out to stretch or to have her kennel cleaned. So she was curled up in a ball in the back of the kennel traumatized, scared, filthy and smelled horrible! We had to pry her out of the back of the kennel. I cried seeing her conditions. We never put her back in the kennel after that. We had to bathe her twice to remove the odor. It took her 3 weeks to trust us and get used to noises around the house. Just be prepared to deal with this if your puppy is flying. They fly in the cargo area of the airlines with your luggage. Whether or not it's temperature controlled I am not 100% sure though I was told it was. Do your research first. If I had known one of her stops was NC, I would've drove to the North Carolina airport an picked her up myself. However, I didn't get much information as to where she was leaving out of etc. That information was not available to me until after flight plans had already been made. I also never saw who the parents were or much of her surroundings. I did receive her vet paperwork when she arrived so that was comforting. While I'm very happy with my golden retriever pup, who is now 4 months old, I will never buy from puppy spot again.

When we received our puppy, it had kennel cough. it is unclear if our puppy caught the kennel cough at the breeders or in Transit. Recommendation to all puppy buyers: If your puppy takes more than one day in transit to your location, then demand to wait to have the puppy shipped via air travel. Eliminates any question of where the puppy was exposed to kennel cough (or other wellness issues). Note that the airlines require a high standard of health certifications pre-flight before allowing puppy onboard . Other than receiving our puppy sick, the experience with PuppySpot was a 5 star affair. You do receive the quality of service that you pay for. Just remember to all new puppy owners, if your puppy has to travel more than one day in transit, make sure you insist on air transit, far less traumatic then 2 - 3 days on the road in the back of a van with other dogs.

This was our first experience with a puppy broker. It was hard to get charged the full price up-front and then wait for a month with very little contact from puppy spot for our puppy. Our puppy is wonderful, healthy and cute, though.

I love my new puppy. However, some things you should be weary about with PuppySpot - I began the process in late October/ early November and had my puppy by mid December. There is little communication regarding the vet visits with the puppy & breeder which in my case resulted in 3 separate days where I took off of work to pickup the puppy only to have the travel cancelled. The puppy I initially selected seemed to have medical issues and while I appreciate them wanting to give happy and healthy puppies, they could have let me know sooner that I should pick a replacement instead of having me waste my PTO days 3 separate times. The customer service was lacking, they always tell you to reach out via the app and that people will call you in minutes but it’s more like 24-48 hours. Plus, when I received my new puppy, she had a double ear infection which I had to pay out of pocket for. So despite loving my new puppy, I can’t say I would use PuppySpot again in the future.
