The breeder is a long-time partner of PuppySpot and always meets or exceed our standards and that of the federal government. We have asked a cross-functional team to review our communications and what specifically happened with her delivery. Our goal is 100% happy customers and 100% happy, healthy and stress-free puppies.

We are sorry that your puppy’s heath challenges are ongoing. As you shared, they are all common congenital and hereditary issues with certain breeds. Your dog was bred by one of our top breeder partners who has a multi-year track record of meeting or exceeding all breeding standards. Sadly no amount of love and care can guarantee a dog does not suffer from one or more of these conditions. We have reached out since seeing your first posting to see if we can provide support in any way but have not heard back. Please let us know. Thank you for your post, we are alarmed at your suggestion. A Puppy Mill is a breeder that does not prioritize the health and well-being of the puppy or the breeding mother. At PuppySpot the health and well-being of the puppy is our number one priority. That’s why we have created the most rigorous breeder standards in the industry, and why we monitor our breeder partners on a real-time basis to make sure they are meeting our standards. An important thing to note: All sellers and breeders should be licensed by the USDA, unless they are exempt for religious reasons. The breeders should have formal relationships with USDA-accredited veterinarians who maintain a Program of Veterinary Care (PVC). And the breeders should provide living spaces that meet regulatory standards for size, pet-friendly materials, aesthetics, ventilation, temperature, noise, flooring, bedding, lighting, cleaning, pest control, outdoor facilities, and more. The PuppySpot Perfect Puppy Promise is built on how we select and certify our breeder partners and how they care for their puppies. We are the opposite of a Puppy Mill.

Thank you for sharing what is surprising feedback on your puppy. Our goal is happy, healthy puppies, happy customers and complete transparency every step of the way. We can assure you that your puppy is the puppy in the original listing. Angles and lighting can change photographic renderings for sure. On the matter of cleanliness, also a surprise. It is not our standard of care at all, and we are immediately undertaking a full investigation of what happened to impact her appearance. Our breeders are certified and constantly assessed to ensure that they are providing a loving, healthy environment for their puppies and that the puppies arrive after a full vet check, clean and ready to be loved. In terms of your puppy's pedigree, we will be sending you the AKC registration information on her parents which should allay any remaining concerns. We are sorry to hear about your puppy's condition upon arrival. As shared, sadly it is a common ailment associated with many purebred puppies. It’s why in part we created the 10 Year Health Commitment, to provide new owners with a window of early financial support should a puppy contract them. We are sorry for your loss and what sounds like a less than ideal experience with us. We did suffer some technical difficulties with our site which meant customers could not access their accounts for a couple of weeks. Thankfully the issue has been addressed. In terms of customer service, your happiness is our goal and clearly we have opportunity for improvement. We would love to learn more about specific areas where did not meet your expectations.
