Make sure you want all the terms of service when you agree to them. Puppyspot is inflexible to any changes on your end, such as meeting the dog at the airport instead of taking a puppy cab which could be 4 hours in the car. But they can change things on you. Also, we purchased a mini Australian Shepard puppy. After receiving her and taking a dna test, she was a poodle, Maltese, catahoula leopard dog. Zero Shepard. They did reimburse a portion of the fee, but I question how well they look into their breeders in the “Puppy Spot Promise” of no puppy mills.

We received a very traumatized dog due to transport and who knows what kind of conditions before arriving. He was dirty, smelly and unkept. We were told the puppy would be flown to us, but was transported in a crowded van with lots of barking, unhappy dogs 2-3 in each cage. We were given very little information about the puppy. He had extreme diarrhea that had to be treated immediately for a large vet bill. Fortunately, our puppy has settled in and is doing well, except he still 'cries' when left alone, which we believe was due to the trauma. I would never buy another dog from this company or any other on-line again. I believe that this is just a glorified puppy mill.

Great puppy, terrible policies!
My husband and I were nervous about the PuppySpot process but were eager to get the puppy/breed we wanted under a spontaneous timeline that made sense for our family. We've adopted several puppies/kittens directly from breeders, so committing to a puppy sight unseen (other than pics) and not having the opportunity to discuss our puppy's developing temperament was not ideal, especially given that this puppy would be the second dog in our home. When we inquired about the potential to connect directly with the breeder to ask specific questions, we were told that direct contact was not within their practice because of a history of previous potential buyers making personal arrangements directly with breeders and leaving PuppySpot out of the deal once that contact was made. We were also told that our puppy's temperament is best predicted by her parents' temperaments, which were shared in a brief summary provided by the breeder for our puppy and her litter mates. While this is an understandable theory, diligent dog owners know that every puppy carries parental traits but also have unique individual characteristics and personalities. While our puppy has a wonderful temperament and has developed into a perfect family member in our home, we are not shocked to learn that she is not in fact the same dog as her parents' summary described. The worst part of our experience, however, relates to the logistical nightmare of receiving our puppy. We were offered several options to receive our puppy and paid extra fees to have our puppy delivered from the breeder's door to ours. Our puppy was scheduled to take a puppy plane and have a driver deliver her to us. One week prior to our anticipated delivery date, everything went haywire. While my husband and I were on a puppymoon ;) outside of the country, we received a call from PuppySpot letting us know that having our puppy delivered was no longer an option. It was explained to us that the delivery method we chose was implemented because of COVID-19 but now being phased out. We were told that we would be refunded some money and that they would facilitate arrangements between myself and the breeder. New arrangements would entail us driving directly to the breeder (6 hours away - not terribly far, but very inconvenient given our initial expectations) or designating a mutually agreed upon meeting point somewhere between both parties. That facilitation occurred quickly throughout our puppymoon (tied to our phones while on vacation for two days). We were given a date and a meeting point (which decreased our driving time to 4 hours/1-way); however, we were not given a contact name or phone number of our breeder or meeting person - we were told that information would be shared with us 24-48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting. After not receiving that information two days prior, my husband and I became very skeptical about what was going on and were worried that we were being scammed as information was limited and plans kept changing. We were unsure if there would actually be a puppy waiting for us at the end of that 4-hour drive and my husband had safety concerns for me as he would be unable to make the drive. It took many unnecessary tears and several calls and requests to talk to management to obtain contact information in order to feel assured that we were not being scammed. I spent an extensive amount of time speaking with a manager about the unpleasant, unfortunate, and unnecessary experience. My main gripes are that PuppySpot should have found a way to honor travel arrangements that were already confirmed and paid for despite changes to their practice. Furthermore, PuppySpot's primary interest was clearly not losing a sale, which came very unfairly at the expense of the buyers' peace of mind. PuppySpot would not be in business if wasn't for buyers and their lack of effort to be forthcoming with information and accommodate buyers' emotional and financial trust and investments were unacceptable. I am only giving the business two stars because we are in love with our dog and everything ultimately worked out; however, we will never use the service again nor would we recommend the service to other buyers or breeders. It feels slimey and was truly a disappointing experience. Adopting a puppy should be exciting, fun, and stress-free! I hope PuppySpot has since changed their practices, but it's a little too late for us even so.

I bought a dog in Nov
I bought a dog in Nov. 2015. great addition to family, healthy , etc. Now I am striving to purchase another dog and I have been given the run around. They said I had the dog, now I don't. No one returns my calls. Not sure they are still in business.

Be very careful. They have wrongful information on website
I purchased a puppy 4 years ago and had a great experience, which is why I went back to puppy spot to buy my second puppy. However, I was extremely unhappy with the their service.
If you read Puppy’s spot website:
PuppySpot works with trusted licensed professionals in the commercial air and private air business to get your puppy to an airport or one of our pickup locations as close to your home as possible. Keep in mind that air travel can be limited due to weather anywhere along your puppy’s route, so we all need to be flexible with dates and times of arrival. The Pickup Package is $699, which includes:
Airport delivery
Your puppy’s health certificate
Travel carrier
I booked this package based on the above airport delivery! However, they only confirmed to me that I have to drive 5 hours to pick up the puppy at 8am! I did not pay $700 to drive for five hours on a Friday morning. I am not working for PuppySpot, I am a customer of PuppySpot!
Therefore, since commercial air travel was not possible they should have immediately advised me that the puppy will travel through ground transportation, which is whole different scenario.
What is on your website is their responsibility.
what they did is misrepresenting the information to the reader which I find irresponsible.
The second point that they mention is that the puppy will come with some training. However the puppy (15 weeks old) came with zero training, and has been peeing and pooping all over the house even though we take him out every 2 hours and there is always someone in the house including my other dog. This doesn’t include his uncontrollable barking all day long. I will have to now send him for dog training which will cost me $2,000for 2 weeks, which means that this dog would have cost me $6.5k all together

Poor communication system
Communications is the biggest issue with this service. You rarely speak to someone live. It's mostly email or through an automated app. You are often put on hold with long wait times. However, the sales person we did speak with directly and that experience was the best. Though after the credit card is processed, that's when we found it difficult to speak to someone directly regarding the scheduled delivery of our puppy, which was delayed twice. This was the 2nd time we used the service and had no issues the first time we used it 5 years ago. Both puppies we received are great.

We would like to apologize for your communication experience. Unfortunately, ongoing challenges with the transportation industry has made it very difficult to keep current, reliable schedules for the transportation of our puppies. This in turn has made it difficult for us to keep all our customers informed in a timely manner. We deeply apologize for the concerns this caused you. We are grateful to hear that your puppies are great and doing well and we wish you much joy for the future.

Awesome puppy/Horrible Service!
First let me start out by saying, I am in LOVE with my new puppy. He just couldn’t possibly be more adorable. That said, I credit the breeder with this and definitely not PuppySpot. From the initial purchase through delivery, and then fighting over vet bill reimbursement, this company has been a nightmare to work with.
First they wouldn’t accept a credit card in my boyfriend’s name (puppy was a gift to me) because the billing address on his account didn’t match the delivery address that we provided for shipment. We explained that they never requested a billing vice delivery address which is why they do not match. That was found acceptable, but they still wanted us to use a new credit card or apply that card to our paypal account and then we could use it. Just illogical. They also wanted to double charge us to hold the puppy vs. hold the puppy, wait until we verified the first charge was removed before making the second charge.
Once we finally get passed this issue, the first representative tells me that I needed to download their PuppySpot app and that a puppy manager will contact me to coordinate a date for delivery in Tampa Fl. A few days later, I get a notice via their app informing me that the puppy will be delivered on 15 September in Orlando FL. No prior coordination as promised, just the date and location, like or leave it. When I contact the initial rep and he tells me that “his guess was Orlando was the earliest and most convenient flight” and that I should reach out via the app to a manager or all the 866 number. So, I contact them in order to have it corrected to the correct city, and I am told that they have been having issues all summer trying to fly animals into FL so they needed to have a centralized meeting location instead which apparently ( I assume to make more money) was Orlando.
We then try to prepare for his arrival (food, size crate, etc. ) and received contradictory information from chatting with a puppy manager (you will be given the crate he arrives in, food starter, etc. ) vs. the app notices which tell you to bring a crate, nutrical, and wet food. What wet food, you don’t know since the app shows the breeder listed a dry brand food only.
So, we drive 2.2 hours to Orlando, they arrive to the meeting point over an hour late (now 8pm and we have a 2 hr. drive home) and we discover this poor puppy had not flown to FL from Indiana which is what we were told our $700 transport fee was for, but rather was driven in a van with approximately 20+ other puppies. He was a matted and stinky wreak but definitely super happy to get out of that cage!
The next day I take him to the vet for his check up and he was very dehydrated, lethargic, and tested positive for the parasite Giardia. The vet treated his dehydration and $415.00 later puppy is sent home with meds, special diet food, and strict restrictions on where he could go and that he could not be around other pets for at least 2 weeks.
I submit a claim the next day (16 Sept) following the “PuppySpot Health Commitment” guidelines which states in part “if within 1-14 days…only requires a copy of an itemized invoice of veterinarian services performed for coverage to be provided”. I received an email requesting that I resend the itemized invoice, which I did on 18 Sept. On Monday, 19 Sept, I attempt to call them 3 times, leaving a call back number since the wait was claimed to be 1 minute but was 20 each time before I left the call back. Finally the 3rd call back feature works and I speak with a young lady who tells me that they require more than just the itemized invoice to process the claim. She tells me that detailed veterinarian notes from the visit is required as written in their terms. I explain to her than she may want to read the company’s policy because that is not required, she continues to insist that it is, so I hang up. I then email them a copy of their own PuppySpot Health Commitment from their website and point out where only the itemized invoice is required. I have yet to get a response, but did email them that I wanted a response prior to wasting more of my time or my vet’s time to obtain unnecessary documentation. My guess after everything so far is that they will not honor their commitment and I will simply be out the $415.00.
I know you need to be careful that you aren’t dealing with puppy mills, but you also need to deal with a company that you can trust to give you the truth and stick to it.

We're glad that we were able to connect with you via phone to understand your concern regarding your experience and how your puppy travelled to you. Most importantly, we're glad we could assist you under our Health Commitment. We apologize once again for the inconvenience we caused with this process and hope that you and your puppy are now doing much better together.

Horrible!!
Horrible!!! The rep I was texting informed me about spaying the dog and how if any rescue or vet is doing this before a year that they need to be shut down. Proceeded to bash rescues and shelters. When asked if the person was a vet, they said not they had 10 years experience. I was ready to purchase a puppy from them but after this conversation of they know best and bad mouthing ALL rescues and shelters, in my opinion that is completely unethical. There are other places to get dogs, keep looking. Prices are really high! Reps' name was Juan and had very poor grammar and spelling.

We are truly sorry that your experience in attempting to get a puppy from us the first time was not what you, nor us, would have liked. We're grateful for the 2nd chance that you are considering with us. We'd very much like the opportunity to help you meet your new best friend. If that does not work out, we still hope you find a furry friend to spend many years together with.
