My first experience with Puppyspot was not good. I chose and paid for a puppy and 2 days later was told she had been sold outright by breeder. They should have put her as found a home, not available. I then picked another puppy and after plans to pick her up had changed at my request, I picked her up 7/18/24. Representatives for the breeder, Sarah and her husband Andy could not have been any nicer. Thank you to them for bringing me my beautiful little mini longhaired Dachshund.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We understand your frustration with the initial situation regarding the first puppy. We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information about our available puppies. We're glad that you were able to find another puppy that you love and that Sarah and Andy were able to help make the process smoother. We value your feedback and will use it to improve our services.

Puppy arrived with two intestinal parasites
Everything seemed to go great until my puppy tested positive for two intestinal parasites the very next day after arrival. I’m concerned that either the breeder and/or vet did not do a thorough check before delivery or the carrier did not do a good job of keeping her away from other dogs or infected crates.
Response from PuppySpotJul 23, 2024
We are so sorry to hear about your puppy's condition. Regretfully her arriving with a parasite and upset stomach is not an uncommon condition for puppies. It's in part why we created the 10 Year Health Commitment to be able to provide new owners with a window of early financial support should a puppy need veteranarian care. Please give us a call at 866-306-6064 to arrange that. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The delivery was postponed twice…
The delivery was postponed twice without notice until the day of the arranged delivery.
I give the team that ultimately delivered the puppy 5 stars for their professional and punctual handling of the transition.

We understand your frustration with the delivery delays and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We strive to provide a seamless experience for all our customers and are disappointed to hear that this wasn't the case for you. We are grateful for your kind words about the team who ultimately delivered your puppy. We value your feedback and will use it to improve our delivery processes.

Puppy has ticks
Puppy arrived as scheduled. Unfortunately she brought ticks with her from Missouri.
Response from PuppySpotJul 1, 2024
We are glad to hear your puppy arrived on schedule, but sorry to hear about her ticks. Sad but true, ticks are a common occurence, not always detectable during the pre-delivery vet exam. We're happy to reimburse you for the necessary veteranarian care. It’s why in part we created the 10 Year Health Commitment, to provide new owners with a window of early financial support should a puppy need veteranarian care. Please give us a call at 866-306-6064 if we can be of help.

The only reason that this review even…
The only reason that this review even got three stars is because the dog is very sweet but his lack of socialization is very difficult to work with.I wanted an older puppy so I would have some of the puppy behavior behind me, He was 5 months old and the breeder didn't work with him at all. I can't get him to go in the car. He is not at all housebroken and does not want to go out the door. He has not been leash trained at all so I struggle to get him to walk on a leash. I am elderly but have people around me who are younger and stronger. He is 51lbs now and I know he will be a lot bigger before too long as we have had Bernese Mt. Dogs over many years . Your puppies are not supposed to be from puppy mills but aside from the fact that the breeding dogs may be kept in somewhat more humane and somewhat cleaner conditions, these farmers are breeding and selling as fast as they can. In the past, we have only dealt with private breeders and never received a puppy sho was not socialized The prices are not much different from a puppy that has had some time put into him and the puppies you are selling. I also bred, showed , and trained Labradore Retrievers for 20 years. You also indicated that you could get our puppy delivered our home. We drove 3.5 hours each way to meet up with our breeder and I ws told there was no other way to get him. Our friends had the same experience get to the puppy they purchased thru Puppy Spot only they had to stay overnight because it was so far away. And why is it that neither one of us were able to see where the puppies were raised. We had to take possesion of our puppy in a Subway Restaurant parking lot. My friends got theirs at a pizza Restaurant parking lot. We will give this puppy the best home he could wish for but never again will we purchase anything from Puppy Spot!

Thank you for posting, we are happy that you love your puppy and not happy that you did not love the entire experience. Our goal is 100% happy customers and happy puppies! There may have been some confusion regarding your puppy's preparation. Our breeders are not equipped to train their dogs. That should have been made more clear to you. And none of our breeders are so-called "Puppy Mill" breeders. A Puppy Mill is a breeder that does not prioritize the health and well-being of the puppy or the breeding mother. At PuppySpot the health and well-being of the puppy is our number one priority. That’s why we have created the most rigorous breeder standards in the industry, and why we monitor our breeder partners on a real-time basis to make sure they are meeting our standards. An important thing to note: All sellers and breeders should be USDA compliant. The breeders should have formal relationships with USDA-accredited veterinarians who maintain a Program of Veterinary Care (PVC). And the breeders should provide living spaces that meet regulatory standards for size, pet-friendly materials, aesthetics, ventilation, temperature, noise, flooring, bedding, lighting, cleaning, pest control, outdoor facilities, and more. Lastly, we apologize for the misunderstanding regarding delivery to your home. We do offer a door to door option, but it is twice as expensive as the option you selected. Whether our customers have to drive short or long distances to pick up their puppy is determined by where they live vis a vis major airports. The choice of familiar parking lots as the pick up location is by design: a public area accessible to all. Sadly, as much as we'd like to deliver every puppy to the doorstep of their new home, it is logistically impossible and would be cost prohibitive to our customers. Finally we hope you will reconsider our service in the future. Over our twenty plus years in business we have served thousands of happy customers, and would love for you to become one too.

The communication was not good unless…
The communication was not good unless it was something that benefited them. Tried to get the sister of the dog we got for my daughter and even though they said they were checking on it, it sold.

Thanks for posting on TrustPilot and your feedback. We apologize for the miscommunication involving the puppy you were hoping to adopt. Given the number of households we are serving on a daily basis it is very difficult to meet everyone's specific needs. We hope you will reconsider our service and would love to help you find your perfect puppy.

This experience was a tragedy of error
1. No access to puppy spot app. Or to see any demographics on my puppy
2. E- mail responses were not sent.
3. My acct. never showed I had a puppy!
4. False information given on transport of my puppy.
5. Transportation hired to deliver my puppy was mediocre at best
Ty Andrea for reaching out to me and listening to and addressing each of my concerns. I hope that IT gets things straightened out and I can see my two puppies that I purchased at different times show up in my account.
Also thank you for checking back on our puppies wellness check to make sure everything was ok from issues from her transport. Your concern Andrea and compassion for our girl is much appreciated.
Response from PuppySpotJun 26, 2024
Thanks for posting on TrustPilot and your feedback. We have heard from other customers that our communication protocol post-purchase is not good enough and that an app and more active updating of your account would be helpful. Your comment about false information regarding your puppy's travel is also concerning as is the reference to our travel partners being mediocre. They and we have a twenty year track record of successfully delivering happy puppies all over America. We have assembled a cross department team to look at each of your issues and do what we can to improve the entire puppy adoption experience. Thank you again for taking time to share your candid feedback. We are committed to our improvement and input from our customers is key.

Not entirely sure that they don't use puppy mills
First, I absolutely love my dog! Puppy Spot makes it convenient and easy to find the puppy you want. They are very responsive throughout the purchase, and delivery of your dog. Negatives: did not get to see the parents of my puppy or see where he was born. This made me wonder if the "no puppy mill promise" is legit. I met a lady in a parking lot to get my dog. Second, I spent a lot of money, and my puppy was behind on his shots. I had to pay to get him "caught up". I sent the invoice to Puppy Spot, and nothing was ever done to compensate me. If you have an issue, all you get is a generic email that says "thank you for contacting us, someone will ....... and then nothing happens. Also, they told me that my dogs parents weighed about 5-6 pounds each. My puppy is now seven months old and weighs 13 pounds. He is a full bred Pomeranian-did DNA-but he is a big guy! Beautiful, but big!

We are glad you love your pup, and appreciate your positive feedback on the overall experience. Our goal is 100% happy customers and 100% happy and healthy puppies. Please know our standard protocol is to provide all information on evervy puppy's pedigree and parents. We apologize, it should have been sent to you. In terms of the delivery, we work with a vetted travel partner to deliver our puppies, and because they can't deliver to specific homes, nearby parking areas are the preferred location. Finally, on the puppy being behind in shots, that is also not our protocol. All PuppySpot puppies receive a full health check by a licensed veteranarian and are current on vaccinations prior to delivery.
