Pubby is more of a pain than it's worth, and expensive!
Pubby used to be a great way to get reviews, but they've gone way downhill in a short time, especially when it comes to Verified Reviews. Verified Reviews are reviews where the reader must purchase the book, read it, and then review it; so as the reader, you are putting money out to review the book...this process SHOULD be legitimate. BUT, the reader is at the mercy of Amazon to actually post that the review is a "Verified Review"...half the time they don't post that, and Pubby penalizes you for it by taking away the snaps they originally awarded you (snaps are used to up your book to the reading library so others can read and review for you.) It's not the reader's fault if Amazon doesn't post that "verified review" stamp....and Pubby won't accept your receipt of purchase as evidence that you did in fact purchase the book. So, don't be surprised if you go into your account and find your snaps in the negative by thousands, and they aren't helpful at all in resolving these issues. They ask for "Detailed Receipts" Amazon's digital receipts aren't always "Detailed" sometimes, if you purchase more than one digital book at a time, they lump them together on one receipt, they don't break it down...it just shows the total paid...but Pubby won't accept that...seriously?! The next complaint I have is that it is OBVIOUS that many times readers aren't reading the books, this completely removes the legitimacy of Pubby's reviews. I have seen many instances where reviewers simply copy/paste information from the book's page on Pubby and paste it into a review showing that they obviously did not READ the book.
