Pteet offers Texas residents a daily rental policy, but not an annual one.

Update 5-17-18. I live in Texas and was looking for rental car collision/damage coverage since the rental car companies charge so much. In April, I purchased an Annual Basic Plan from Pteet for $125, believing it would provide collision coverage protection for a rental car. When I received the letter of confirmation, I briefly glanced at it, but didn’t read it fully. Several weeks later, I read the letter more thoroughly and saw in the Benefits notes section that Collision, loss or damage coverage is not available to Texas residents. The 10 day cancellation period had already passed so I thought I had just lost the money. I was angry at Pteet because the website had allowed me to purchase the bogus annual policy. I wrote a 1 star review about my experience. Just a few days later, the company responded to me both by email and by phone that I was charged incorrectly for an annual policy due to a website glitch and they refunded my money. It seems they offer Texas residents a daily rental coverage policy, but not an annual one as the website said. You can see their explanation below my review. They have corrected the website. Based on their explanation and quick response to me, I no longer believe there was any deception on their part as I previously thought. I am upgrading the review to 4 stars for good customer service and will consider their daily rental insurance in the future.

Hello Garry - thanks for the review. You are right to complain about this! The annual policy is valid in every state except TX, NY, OR. Unfortunately we dropped the ball by allowing you to purchase an annual policy as a TX resident. TX resident can purchase a daily policy, but annual policy was supposed to be blocked. We've since fixed the software and now TX resident will only be able to purchase the daily rental insurance policy i.e. we've totally blocked the annual policy for TX residents. On Friday we refunded you $125 and one or our reps called and emailed you. So I'm glad we were able to sort that out.
