So I sent in a 1993 topps stadium club…
So I sent in a 1993 topps stadium club beam team #4 michael jordan to be gradded. I did fastest turnaround time. I took videos and pictures of this card before sending it off. At the time a psa 10 copy sold for 22,000. About two weeks go by and I recieved the card back. It gradded a PSA 8 NM-MT. I was happy with this grade. But when I turned card over to look at the back I noticed the upper corner was bent. My card did not have that bent corner. My photos and videos can prove that. So I reached out to PSA. They said send the card back and they will do a quality check on it. Along with bent corner there was a piece of lint trapped in the slab right in middle of the front of card. 4 months go by and I heard nothing yet about my beam team card. I reached out to psa several times during four months and got no response untill the 4th month mark. They responded that the card was like that when recieved. They take intake photos when card arrives and in those photos no damage is shown or the bent corner. They stated again damage was there prior. So I sent over all videos and photos fighting my case. And 2 more weeks go by and they responded saying " Sorry our gradder made a mistake originally the card is not a psa 8 it is now a psa 7 and will be reslabbed as a 7. I was furious they were doing this. How are they not gonna honor there original grade of a 8. They said card does not meet a 8 standard. And I told them I know its because you damaged the corner. To rap up they refunded me gradding fee of $183. On top of that they refunded me $175 for differnce of a 8 to a 7 grade. Still doesnt change the fact my most expensive jordan card could have been a 9 or a 10 if not mishandled by PSA. The supposedly best gradding company. Now that Beam Team jordan reached a all time high of 43,000. I will never know if mine would have been a 10. "Don't trust PSA with your holy grail cards" I know mistakes happen in life but it took fighting for 3 weeks to get them to admit fault.
