General Proofreading & Transcript Proofreading
I took both the General Proofreading and Transcript Proofreading classes. They were much more difficult than I thought they would be. I almost gave up a couple of times but so glad that I persevered. There are definitely "glitches" in some of the practice modules but I didn't let them get in my way. I just concentrated on learning the concepts. All of the practice was so helpful but I felt one of the greatest benefits of both of the classes was the incredible amount of resources that Caitlin pulled together for her students. It would have taken months (maybe years) for us to figure out all of those sources. From marketing ideas to legal resources to business organization resources....it's all included! Granted, some of them didn't work out - especially now that the course is a little more commercialized- but ALL of them served as a springboard for us to work from to establish our own businesses. I am also so appreciative of the Facebook groups. They are so supportive and so helpful! These courses are DIFFICULT. But they have to be. It wouldn't reflect well on Caitlin and Proofread Anywhere if students were sent out to the marketplace with minimal skills. These courses will train you to be proofreaders. I learned (and re-learned) so much! And BTW - I have my Masters in Ed Admin and my secondary teaching credential in English. But I definitely needed help relearning the rules and how/where to apply them. And that depth of knowledge helps you when you need to support your changes with your clients. Thank you!
