I had 5 essays reviewed by Prompt. I did 1 review/each for 4 of the essays and for the main Common App essay I did 3 reviews with 3 different editors. I noted that I was applying to a highly selective school and I welcomed any level of edits - even rewrites if necessary. Of the 7 editors who worked on my essay, I feel like only 1 made impactful revisions. The others made some suggestions that included answering lengthy questions that would have easily made me go over my word count by 50%. On one of my essays I even paid extra for "rush" service and I certainly got revisions that seemed too rushed. It didn't seem like the editor put much thought in the edit, didn't leave many comments and I knew my essay probably could've used a lot more edits. I wish there was a way to request an editor that you have worked with before. I got one good one and I wish I could work with her again. I think these editors are fine if you are only looking for minor edits, grammar checks, edits for flow. If you are looking for more dramatic improvements in your essay, this probably isn't for you.

Prompt.com has a really good essay reviews. I really admire how the essay specialists point out different viewpoints from which different readers might see the thing you are writing about and get the wrong impression because of the tiniest flaws in your grammar and idea expression. The reviews get in detail to your specific problems from pointing out minor errors to suggesting reconstructing contents, most importantly how to fix them with alternative suggestions, or even rewrites if you want, though I haven't used this choice yet. The rubric scoring they provide is also really good if you like it when they put rating on your work, like I do, although it would be even better if they added your percentile score or some way you can compare your ratings with others. Their efficient use of editing tools is one of the other things I liked. The people there are nice, they want to make sure you are happy and comfortable with your use of their service, which I have seen when I encountered a problem while submitting my essay: I contacted them via their e-mail, and I got responses within a matter of minutes till my problem was solved. Prompt.com is something I really recommend for a friend.

Prompt has definitely helped me out during my most stressed time before early action deadly. The editors were professional, and they helped me reconstruct my essays, and after several drafts they become much better. Thank so much to their efforts, and wish a success.

I think Prompt is an awesome way to get another pair of eyes to take a look at your essay, but it does depend slightly on the reviewer that you get.

Prompt gave very constructive feedback on my college essays that helped me express myself in a concise, precise and accurate manner. With their help, I am confident that my essays are the best they can be.

I'm still using Prompt--I have only used it for two essays now--but so far, so good!! I had an in-person counselor who constantly berated me and laughed at my ideas, so I made the jump to an online editor and I'm very happy I did. It costs about the same and the prompt editors are very thorough and unafraid to suggest changes, but they do it all while remaining respectful and kind in their suggestions. You can allow them different levels of editing so that they don't tell you change your topic two days before the deadline--I generally stuck with minor changes and polishing my essay since my essay was due in a few weeks and I didn't want to start from scratch in the interest of time. My only complaints are that the comments don't always fully address what I identified as my main concern and that the rubric doesn't always match the comments but for the most part, it's been a great help in my college process. I was super obsessed with writing the "perfect essay" and spent hours reading creative essays and agonizing over the fact that my CA topic was fairly simple/boring, but through Prompt, I've turned it into an interesting, introspective essay, even if my topic isn't something more creative, like Costco.
