I recently attended a PMA boot camp class in Houston and this is what I concluded after taking PMP exam: One simply does not take PMP exam prior to attending PMA boot camp class. One simply does not sign up for the class unless it is taught by Patti Layne! All other options aren't worth the effort and resources. Patti's course teaching approach was very informative yet not overwhelming, methodical and structured but not boring, it was easy to understand and retain the knowledge. I'd say without her advice and teaching I probably wouldn't get my PMP certificate that was issued to me :)

I used this company for a PMP bootcamp and had a great experience. To be honest, I went into this with low expectations. Barely a day goes by where I don't get a cold call or spam email from someone wanting to sell me PMP training. So, I was skeptical of the whole PMP training industry. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the Project Management Academy, which I discovered via my own internet search. The instructor was completely prepared and engaging. What could have been a boring slog through endless Powerpoint slides was actually a very well thought-out course with an excellent instructor. He knew the material inside & out and was very effective in coaching students on how to look at the material with an eye on the exam, without getting bogged down in non-PMBOK interpretations of the material (i.e., reality). As a bonus, their website is a great resource for practice questions, mock exams, and other study materials. It isn't a super slick UI, but the content is solid. Between the bootcamp and the mock exams online, a person could totally pass the exam with no other training. The class isn't cheap ($1900 or so), but now that I know how good it is, I can say it is a very good value. This is half of what some other companies charge. Finally, here is a company that cares about their students' success.

Outstanding prep for the exam, not just for the test, but how to think about Project management within the context of PMI. I can't imagine the weeks I would have spent preparing for the exam if I had not take the Boot Camp. the price is definitely worth the time savings. I highly recommend PMA Boot Camp.

The PMP boot camp course was extremely helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the instructor, Scott Fass, and felt he stuck to the PMBOK material. He gave comprehensive answers to any questions posed by students and made sure the material was understood before moving on. He was very aware that his objective was to help us pass the PMP exam. The Strategic Guide that was handed out with the class material was extremely helpful and it pointed out material that is usually hard for some students to understand. I thought the online courses were helpful in that I could refer back to material covered in class and I loved the practice questions after each section. I took the PMP exam yesterday and passed so thank you for such a great course!

I attended the PMP boot camp in Atlanta, GA, on 4 - 7 April, 2016, taught by Mrs. Shika Carter. I initially took an on-line PMP course through a nationally recognized college that lasted six months. In addition to that, I purchased several study guides in preparation for the PMP exam. My first attempt at the exam was a disaster! I cannot emphasize this enough; the Project Management Academy Boot Camp and the knowledge provided by Mrs. Carter is what enabled me to pass the exam on my second attempt. The PMP Exam is no joke! If you don't understand the nuances of the test and have a thorough understanding of how to take the test, you just wasted your money. The PMA methodology is the best you're going to find. I was impressed with how much information was packed into the 4 days. Lots of helpful hints from the instructor on how to pass the exam and the online training courses provided some in depth aid on the necessary complicated math formulas. The practice exams were extremely helpful.
