i found someone trashing my name on a proboards.com forum, so i followed proboards.com procedure to report it as harassment. after 2 months, the slanderous remarks were still posted on this forum even though i reported it as abusive. So i made a forum on proboards.com and said the exact same things about the exact same people that are trashing my name. Mine got pulled down citing section 25a (the "we don't need a reason" claus) BUT the one i complained about is still up. unacceptable

Proboards terminate long standing boards and then they refuse to tell the owners why the forum was terminated. Lots of forums are terminated for no reason, on Proboards.

I was a member of OpenCabbage.com which had a lot of great information, but after I made a post asking for help asking about the rarity and value of a Cabbage Patch Doll, my account was banned. No message, no reason, no anything. You can't report random abuses like that to Proboards support. They will have nothing to do with ensuring the moderators of individual forums aren't banning people randomly. It was extremely frustrating to have no idea what you did wrong and, honestly, it was slightly offensive. They should have some way to rate the forums/moderators. I would rate OpenCabbage.com well, but it's moderators not so much, and Proboards even less.

You can't use Paypal or Prepaid Cards to pay for ProBoards+,it's the norm now to be able to use them,I can use my card everywhere but not on ProBoards.

I have been using Proboards for two years now. Proboards is consistently assailed by website-breaking errors and slow connectivity. Bottlenecking is an incredibly common thing here that free website admins themselves have no way to alleviate, but among that are numerous server errors that hit without warning and cause irreversible damage to your website's statistics and traffic. The staff will respond to you in a reasonable amount of time on the support website, but issues are sometimes not resolved quickly, if it is resolved at all(the problems are often reoccurring, indicating that the true issue is not being addressed). It will take hours, days possibly, and all of the stats and traffic you lose during that time cannot be recovered. Sometimes it feels as if ongoing issues are simply ignored, and you will be talked down to by the staff members if you try to bring up the reoccurring issues. I love using proboard's simple system, but sometimes I wonder if all of these errors, as well as the disconnect between staff and consumers, is worth it. I have used free website platforms that are just as easy to use that don't come with all of these errors and other baggage.
