PreziReviews of prezi.com

The creation of material is quite remarkable, however, the difficulty of presenting in Google Classroom is such that I closed my account.

I have no idea what happened to Prezi. My account was deleted with the loss of some old but really useful presentations. As with all platforms, they started off great and now want to drain money from you at every opportunity. I get it's not free to host this technology, but it's lost its appeal for me, an individual user.

They change features, removing features unless you subscribe to a higher monthly plan. Have had Edu Plus plan for two years and now you supposedly have to have a Edu Pro plan to use the same features as before. That plan doesn't even show up on Prezi's website. I swear, they make this crap up as they go, trying to force people into monthly subscriptions.

I like the Prezi software, but just watch out regarding their pricing and feedback. You cannot pay monthly, despite the display of a monthly price. Only yearly. There is a community post asking why, with the only response being "Sorry for the inconvenience". There is no requirement for a company to be focused on providing value to their users, but there is a lot of competition in the space, and it is really irritating to pay £180 for presentation software to a company that is really just trying to maximise revenue from users. This sort of thing usually happens in less competitive spaces.

They introduced their product as different from typical PowerPoint, in sense presentations are non-linear. Firstly they degraded their Classic Prezi by taking out option to add animated images. The Prezi Classic was always very buggy. Later they introduced Prezi Next which is almost as same thing as PowerPoint, just with different animations. They've never added aligning tool. Prezi Next is painful to work with and if you are a new customer you don't get access to Prezi Classic. My last complain is that I've applied for webinar, with my contact, I was unable to attend, and later I got a call from their phone in Europe. The guy behind just called, asked my name and then hung up. It was odd and bizarre.

Prezi is a great idea ruined by incompetence. The promise of slick, zooming presentations is very alluring. However, the software is very poorly developed, offers very basic functionality and omits even the most basic functions - like cropping an image. It's such a disappointment.
