A guide on how not to let Prezi violate your rights: Force a refund via Visa Chargeback
Hi there! It is A guide on how not to let Prezi violate your rights: Force a refund via Visa Chargeback Prezi renewed an annual plan for €58.08 without a clear advance notice and refused a refund within hours of the charge, despite zero usage of the account. Support agents hid behind internal "no refund" scripts. How to protect your rights and get your money back: 1. Stop arguing with support once they refuse. Take screenshots of your chat and your dashboard showing 0 presentations created after payment. 2. File a formal Chargeback dispute with your card-issuing bank (Visa/Mastercard) for an unwanted recurring charge with immediate cancellation and zero usage. 3. File a formal consumer complaint with the California Department of Justice / Attorney General (Prezi is a CA-based entity). My complaint was officially logged in their enforcement registry under file PIU: 1553010. Why report them to the California Attorney General (PIU)? Prezi Inc. is headquartered in California and operates in direct violation of the California Automatic Renewal Law (ARL), Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17600–17606 (specifically § 17602), as well as the California Unfair Competition Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200). The ARL strictly makes it unlawful to bill recurring charges without explicit prior consent, timely pre-renewal notices (15–45 days prior), and simple, accessible cancellation mechanisms. While the AG's office does not represent individuals in private refund claims, they actively track patterns of illegal corporate conduct to initiate state law enforcement actions. Accumulating complaints triggers formal investigations, statutory civil penalties of up to $2,500 per violation, and court-mandated mass restitution. File an official complaint with the California Department of Justice citing the ARL—every submitted file builds collective legal pressure. My bank (Česká spořitelna) and Visa ruled 100% in my favor, returning the full 1,449.50 CZK (58,08 €). Prezi’s internal policies do not override payment card rules or consumer protection standards. Use your bank’s chargeback mechanism.
