I thought it was a great place to go for all you need for your photoraphy. To get Certified I find it not .... to me ideal. live exam always problem before take the test. I just don't support that ideas. I wish I could have my money back.

I paid $3400 in membership dues and they cancelled my account.
I paid membership dues to the PPA totaling over $3400, however I was denied basic service that is promised with membership.
The problem I encountered SHOULD have been covered by the PPA's Indemnification Trust as they advertise, that is why I joined the organization.
Instead of helping to mediate the issue, the PPA cancelled my membership without my consent. I have been reaching out to the PPA via email and phone since this all began in 2024, the last detailed message was left on January 19, 2026. I still have not received a response, however they blocked my account on Facebook. 😂
I was a member and supporter of this professional organization for over a 10 years before this nonsense began. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

They charge your card 10 days prior…
They charge your card 10 days prior your monthly renewal date, instead of charging it on the date. What a shady practice. I canceled my service and then read about other unhappy customers. Also the only way to cancel your subscription is to call in. Very upset.

Scam. I NEVER signed up for this
Scam! I did not sign up or click in for this service yet suddenly they were charging my account. I didn't even know who this outfit is. My bank did put the back in my account and stopped payment. So glad they caught it in time.

If you're a student, don't even bother.
My experience with this organization has been extremely disappointing. Everything feels stitched together and jury-rigged. And because I have a student membership, 90% of things I try to do on the site are met with a message stating "You don't have access, give us more money to upgrade your membership!", for even basic things. Most of the things in their benefits section don't apply to students, but they don't make this clear. The only useful things you can access as a student are occasional webinars, and you get a monthly magazine. For $80 this is nowhere near worth it. You do get free admission to an annual conference for photographers, but unless you live near Atlanta you won't be able to take advantage of this. You even have fewer options for insurance than other members.
Their signup process was a simple Google form, which I also had to put my credit card number into. This means it is likely stored in plain-text on someone's Google Drive. (Not sure of this, just suspected) Next, they charged my credit card and didn't send me any membership materials. I tried logging in with the account information I had provided but no luck. I waited two weeks, figuring eventually they would send me instructions on how to activate my account, before I emailed their membership services and only then was my account activated.
Clients don't care if you're a member of the PPA, as some people I've talked to have thought. Most of them don't know what it is, and the rest know it's pay-to-join and carries no real merit.
