Right from the booking stage the company was always helpful and very sympathetic to individual requirements. I was continually updated and assisted in providing specific answers to my queries. The ship's accommodation was also first class and the hotel manager, Maitre'D, waiters and cabin staff and were always at hand to provide that extra individual attention re seating, dietary requirements etc. The captain and crew were also extremely friendly and accommodating inspiring confidence in their ability to navigate the challenging Southern Ocean and unpredictable weather, wind and ice conditions to ensure safe zodiac landings and an incredible up close experience with the unique wildlife of The Falklands, South Georgia and The Antarctic Peninsula. I would thoroughly recommend this trip - as a must see and do - for experienced travellers, the world over, before "hanging up their spurs" to retire to their sitting rooms to regret what they had not been able to do and see in their lifetimes. As a lifelong traveller in his 75th year I found it very do able so don't let "too many birthdays" deter you from this unique, ultimate experience at the end of the world, sharing this pristine environment with the hardiest wildlife on earth.

I traveled with Poseidon on the Sea Spirit to Antarctica, South Georgia and Falklands in November had had the most amazing trip. The ship is perfectly suited to the Southern Ocean, the crew are top notch (and huge thanks to Olga, our cabin steward who went above and beyond) and the expedition team are fabulous and we achieved so much more than I could possibly have hoped for. Wouldn't hesitate to sail with them again!

We had a an excellent time on our trip to Antarctica with Poseidon. The staff was very good... both knowledgable and professional. Our safety and protecting the areas we were visiting environmental were stressed at all times. The meals were varied and well prepared. Would not hesitate to sail with them again.

I would book another trip with PE in a heart beat. The staff, from the maintenance workers, to waiters, to the guides, to the Captain were always so friendly and polite. Everyone knew your name and that always made it a very welcoming experience. The cabins were a good size. I was in the Triple and never felt too cramped. I was also lucky enough to get roomed with two other ladies whom I clicked with instantly. So for me at least, the cabin share really worked out. The parka was extremely warm and most of the time I was actually hot while out walking around. The boots provided were also really great quality and my feet were never cold. All of the kayak gear was also a good quality and I stayed dry and warm. The food was much better than I was expecting; even though I wasn't sure what to expect on an expedition style cruise. It was nice to see that at breakfast and lunch there didn't seem to be a lot of waste since the options weren't over the top. I thought that was very appropriate considering the type of cruise this was. Dining wise, I wish we had more than one chance to eat outside. That was such an amazing dinner and I would have loved to do it again. The bar was always a nice place to spend some time after dinner and have a few drinks with new friends. I truly enjoyed every minute of this cruise and wish it never had to end. One of these days I'll make it back there or just book a cruise to somewhere in the Arctic instead :)
Eve-
We cruised to Antarctic with Quark, it was very expensive, small cabin. This time we tried Poseidon, they gave 25% discount, so lot cheaper than Quark's 0 discount. We were very surprised by the size of cabin, its twice the size of Quark, has its own sitting room. The ship is much newer than Quark too. The expedition leader German lady Anna is the best! She speaks fluent English, very knowledgeable, enthusiastic. The ship had open bridge, so we could stand at the bridge using their binocular th scout for polar bears. The dining room is very nice with good food. We would definitely take Poseidon again.

Hi, Eve. Many thanks for your kind words about the Sea Spirit and your Arctic trip with us. Carrying no more than 116 guests, the Sea Spirit is an all-suite ship with the smallest cabin size about 215 square feet. So, you get a lot of room for the money with the Sea Spirit. Anja Erdmann is a very experienced expedition leader, with more than 15 years in the field going to the Arctic and Antarctica. Even more important is her enthusiasm and good cheer, which go a long way to make for a good experience for the guests. She and everyone on our expedition team speak two or more languages, and English is always the main language. Thanks again for your comments, and we would be delighted to welcome you back aboard the Sea Spirit!
