SO many alarming things happening with this company. False advertising for starters. Claiming to be “eco forward”… please! Deceptive marketing practices too. And worse, they’re continuing to knowingly expose people to toxic chemicals and profiting off of the return shipping! The fumes are from toxic and dangerous solvents and chemicals in the dye! Their Mexican sweatshop skips necessary steps in the curing, tanning and ventilating process. This has been an ongoing issue- it just happened to us! As soon as I unboxed it, the smell hit. I had the chemicals on my hands- yes it even made my hands smell! I immediately began coughing sneezing and my eyes watered just from being within close proximity of that bag for 3 minutes. It smelled up the entire house with a horrendous chemical odor, and when I put it outside- it smelled horribly of chlorine, formaldehyde and petroleum within a 30 foot radius of the bag- OUTSIDE!! ******Within 24 hours, I developed the worst respiratory and sinus infection of my life! My doctor says these chemicals were likely the cause. ********* Why are more people not questioning this??? And the part that REALLY made me wonder about this company… when I emailed them, they had the nerve to charge me to ship it back and they even suggested I spilled something on it?! They have been very busy deleting my comments and blocking any negative review I attempt to share. The “cult following” with this company is absurd. When are y’all gonna wake up?! This is the shadiest company I’ve ever done business with, and I shop A LOT. Shame on this company for continuing to sell toxic items to people… this is absolutely a health concern. Shame on this company for profiting off of shipping and return shipping for those items. And shame on this company for the BLATANT LIE that they’re “eco forward”. I’m seriously considering legal action. This is NOT OK!!!!

Unlike other reviewers, I’ve been happy with the quality of the products I’ve received from PLG. However, my most recent ordering experience turned me off completely. After ordering from their Mother’s Day sale on Tuesday, I received no order confirmation and had to contact support just to confirm my order went through. Then the order wasn’t even packed for shipping until Sunday, the day of the holiday, although I had paid $10 for faster shipping. After reaching out to support, I was told they don’t offer expedited shipping (strange, since the charge for faster shipping appears on my invoice) and that this very slow turnaround time is normal. Not even an apology for failing to ship a Mother’s Day gift before Mother’s Day, from their own Mother’s Day sale. Why promote your products as gifts for a holiday if you aren’t going to make the effort to ship them in time? I’d understand if PLG packed the order in a timely manner and it just got stuck in transit, but I ordered Tuesday and got the “your order is packed for shipping” email on Sunday. Disappointingly, they created a tracking number on Friday just to make sure the order would appear to have been fulfilled within the turnaround times on their website, but it wasn’t actually packed until Sunday, based on the email I just received Sunday morning. I try to make the extra effort to order directly from merchants rather than using Amazon, but slow shipping and poor service have crossed PLG off my list for the future.

In April of 2024, I purchased Mini Daisy Wallet Foxglove US$28.00 Raindrop Crossbody Bag Foxglove / Classic US$118.00 the leather was impossible to use. It is very thick and I'm unable to place a wallet in it of any size because the rawhide is so amateurishly done. To return the purse and small card carrier, the Portland Leather Goods Outlet expects me to pay to send it back and refuses to refund my money . They'll only allow a customer to receive a store credit. This has been so very frustrating. I have tried to contact the company but they don't have a phone number. My messages were ignored until today, Sunday, Mary 12th, 2024 - MOTHER'S DAY! Now that's downright rude. Thanks for letting me get this done.

Their shoe sizing is all over the place. I ordered the same size of two different pairs of shoes, one was too small and one was HUGE. I used a 25% discount code when I purchased and the very next day (before shipping my order) they went on sale for 35% off. I wrote to their “customer service” team regarding the additional discount and they basically told me to eff off. I didn’t end up keeping either pair of shoes because they didn’t fit and surprise…no free returns or exchanges. Never again.

Horrible chemical smell in my small circle bag. Trying to air it out or should I return it? Unbearable strong chemical smell. Avoid Portland Leather. Should have stuck with my usual Coach bags I have purchased for years. Save your money. BUYER BEWARE. Regret buying from Portland Leather!

I just got Mini crossbody tote from PLG, so what can I say about the bag that the quality is very low, even worse than Etsy. There is a rough seams inside the bag which is looking horrible, zero pockets inside. Plus tiny pen marks but still very visible. Personally I don’t recommend their products.

Really horrible quality. Fabulous advertising! Purchased the premier low top. Most uncomfortable stiff shoe I have ever put on. Everyone needs to google Portland Leather Company Scam and watch some of the videos on YouTube.

Horrible customer service. I ordered boots and sandals on the BOGO sale and within seconds realized that they were not the quality I was looking for. I asked for a cancelation less than 5 minutes. It took Rae (customer service person) 4 days to respond telling me that an exception could have been made if they would have gotten their response earlier. but the system doesn't allow it now. How does that even make sense? How is it my fault that they opened the cancelation request 4 days later? When I insisted Rae said I can either donate or re-sale the shoes. I found that to be a mockery. The order continued to be unfulfilled for a week after, but they had already taken the money from my bank. I Placed the order on February 26th. As of now, it is delayed in shipping, which I paid for shipping to be delivered in 5 to 7 days. the estimated delivery date it is giving me is March 13th! how is this even acceptable? Not to mention, the PREMIUM bag I ordered paying $180.14 on February 24th, came in with a deep scratch right on the front of it. Again, they said I can return it for store credit and they are waiving the shipping fee. Well, that was a lie because when I started the return, it wasn't giving me the shipping cost credit. when I enquired, again 4 days later, they answered saying it is in their policy. Why do I have to pay extra to get the correct bag sent to me? Their customer service is terrible. And the fact that I see I am not the only one being told to re-sale or give away what they bought is terrible. I am still waiting for the boots, which I ordered PREMIUM, paying an extra $40 for them. I am very upset they are not here yet and more upset that I do not know what to expect.
