Unbelievably poor customer service and communication
Switched to this company for homeowners insurance after falling for their hype tv ads. Sorry if this is a little long but it's important to know. Signed up, paid the premium in full and then got a call that they were sending someone out to view the property. Said they did not need to go in the house. I told them no problem. A few days later I received an email that if I didn't repair the damage to the roof that they would have to cancel the policy. I called customer service and asked "what damage?" and requested pictures because I could find no damage, not even a loose or broken shingle. The rep said they would forward photos. A few days later I got an email stating that the previous email was sent in error but I did need to clean the roof or they would cancel coverage. Again I called and told them the house exterior had been cleaned less than 1 year earlier by a professional house exterior cleaning company and again requested photos. No photos ever arrived and near the end of the year I got a letter stating they would not renew the policy because I didn't repair the damaged roof. Totally unprofessional and probably just setting things up in case I made a claim and they needed an excuse not to pay. For reference, I am 69 years old and have owned 3 homes since I was 25 and have never filed a claim on my homeowners insurance. Steer clear of these clowns.
