Hi June, I understand the concern many dog owners have about rope toys. Traditional cotton rope can tear off into long strands that can pose hazards when swallowed. Our dri-tech rope fibers on the other hand are much finer than cotton rope fiber, designed to tear off into small pieces that can pass more easily through the digestive tract without absorbing water or creating issues. Hi Brittany, Thank you for contacting. Playology takes safety very seriously. Because there are no dog toy regulations in the US, we follow the testing standards for US Child Toy to ensure our toys are free of harmful chemicals and toxins. We make our toys for a variety of chewers, and it's very important to us that a dog is matched with the right sort of toy for their chewing behavior. The squeaky chew stick is a newer toy for us, and we have found that it is best suited for moderate chewers and not recommended for very tough chewing dogs. For any toy, we recommend that owners monitor their dog while playing, take away any toy that is showing signs of damage, and contact us immediately so we can find out what happened and replace the toy with something more suitable.
