A week ago, Pipe Works called to schedule a service technician to come to our house today to replace a defective part on our Rheem water heater. We rearranged our schedule to accommodate that visit. Then yesterday, Pipe Works called to cancel their scheduled visit due to a high volume of other service calls. They said we would need to call Rheem to arrange a different Plumbing company to repair our water heater. Rheem was very responsive and arranged to have Admiral Plumbing come to our house tomorrow to install the replacement part.

Problematic new gas fired boiler was installed in September to replace 30 year old oil boiler that needed to be replaced. Although the installation was ok, this boiler has been a problem from the start - unable to provide heat to the entire house and much slower than the old inefficient boiler that it replaced. Company made several adjustments, but there was very little improvement and I suspect the boiler is undersized for our house, although they will not admit this. (A larger boiler would have only cost me only a few hundred dollars more.) I am also not saving as much in heating bills as expected with gas as this boiler runs for hours to provide heat and I am also concerned about decreased value of my home with these kind of heating problems. Very disappointed, as this company installed a water heater a few years ago with no problems.

Technician did not install new filters in either furnace unit even though I showed him the new ones available. Technician completed a plumbing inspection report even though he did not complete a plumbing inspection. As usual, technician found an issue. This time an issue over $1,200 on a 5 year old furnace that Pipe Works installed. At least he was on time and out of the house in about 30 minutes.

Pipeworks was responsive and quick to answer my request on an emergency on Saturday and had a technical at my home within two hours of my call (calls at 6a). However the product was insanely overpriced. I was quoted nearly 6k to replace a water heater. I had two other vendors come out both who quoted me a fraction of that cost. The need for a power vent was not found by two other professionals all who managed the permitting process with the township. Unfortunatly it cost me $99 plus tax to see this overpriced quote. Unfortunatly I couldn't recommend then based on this experience.

Response for an estimate was good, but the quote was almost three times the market rate, where we got the service done.

I was sold a Halo water system and told it was a water softener. The technicians removed my water softener telling me I no longer needed it because the Halo would soften the water and I no longer had to buy heavy bags of salt. I started having a problem with scale buidup. When I asked to have someone check the system I was told that the Halo is not a water softener. I paid over $4000 for this system and now I am told I need a water softener. I have spoken to several other people to find out they were also told the Halo was a water softener. There was no "miscommunication." As I stated, Pipeworks removed my water softener telling me I no longer needed it. That is pretty straight forward. Where is the miscommunication? This company is dishonest and I wouldn't recommend them.

Attention to detail has slipped. For several years, we have had someone come annually to service our boiler--flush it and check radiators. This year, after renewing a service contract, the boiler service we thought we were going to get ended up being a 'general plumbing inspection'. When I asked the technician, they said that the order was for a general plumbing inspection. We asked for quote on a new water heater--our heater is 40 gallons. The initial quote was for a 30 gallon heater. We then got another quote, when we asked for a 40 gallon heater with an extended warranty. The quote seems to be for the Lamborghini of water heaters. Frustrating experiences.

AC wasn't working. Called for emergency service, scheduled apt 3 days later, wasn't told about any charges/fees. AC started working again before apt. Figured might as well keep apt, figuring there was no charge. Tech came, looked at equip for 10 minutes, realized it was working fine. Said, "They told you about the service charge, right?" My answer, "NO, they DIDN'T." Charged me $100 anyway. Took him longer to write the bill than it did to look at the equipment.
