Just denied because we are a new business. So this means our company's record has a black mark on it from PIE insurance's denial. We did nothing wrong we had no issues, but they require a year or more in this line of business. Why not say that in the sign-up process? Terrible company... This is our 2nd year with PIE. Our experience has been a nightmare. IE’s can’t be seen for days sometimes because the partnering providers systems don’t communicate well with PIE systems. One IE left our employment after being unable to secure a simple work release form after 18 days. She moved to another company because she needed to get back to work. It was a simple 3 stitches on a finger. Stitches dissolved, glue covering gone, and they couldn’t even find where she had been seen. It was just bizarre. The process extended our claim, increased our cost, and cost us an employee. This could have created a greater liability than the injury. Even with the involvement of supervisors with their partner providers we could not get answers.

Pie Insurance claim to have sold insurance to a Florida based company, who, they claim, failed to pay for the service, leaving them owing over $3000. Rather than pursue the Florida based company, they instead chose to harass a completely unconnected UK company that had a similar name. Despite having their error pointed out to them, they chose to continue the harassment by getting a debt recover company to do it! If you are thinking of using this company for cover just keep in mind how poor they are at the most simple of things. Why didn’t they get and verify the correct email address at the outset? Why do they continue to ignore the fact they’ve had this pointed out to them? Do they not have a phone book? Some stamps? If you do use them, it would seem you stand the risk of having your personal information shared with complete strangers who, I guess, just happen to have similar names. Do you really want your dirty laundry airing in public?

They are a waste of money for really small business just getting started. With no employees. Never again.

Slow Process To Get Started and Didn't Seem to Listen We asked for an annual payment to limit hassle and to get the discounted rate. Our rep called to take this payment (took our credit card number) and apparently did not run the card and set us up on a monthly premium. We signed up on 5/11/2022 and was not sent our proof of insurance until 6/6/2022 after requesting it multiple times.

We have unfortunately had fraud on our bank account several times, and so we have implemented several controls, that our bank offers, including ACH Debit Block. We went to Pie Insurance and asked for their information to get them setup, but they refused and said they work with Chase all the time. We told them we needed the number for them to be authorized, but we could try processing the payment anyways. We did process the payment and it was of course blocked by the ACH Debit Block control. We notified Pie Insurance of this, and Marshe W. Then insisted that it wasn’t Chase it was us that blocked the transaction? It is incredibly insulting to be called a liar, especially when we tried everything we could to prevent this rejection from happening, and if there is anyone that you would expect to be on your side in preventing you from having fraud against your company it should be your Insurance company. Please get your billing people trained on how these bank fraud prevention programs work and how customer service should work. I might be a jerk, but I’m not a liar, as Marshe insinuates.

Hello I'm a licensed general contractor. I reached out to Pie Insurance for workers comp insurance. First the website tried to redirect me to some commercial insurance company not Pie Insurance. Then I called to get clarification and the Pie agent who said his name was Dillian or Daniel and they do not write workers comp insurance for general contractors. Much to my surprise because they advertise on the Pie website that they do write contractors workers comp insurance. Beware of this company because what they advertise and what they tell you on the phone is false advertisement. Bait and switch trying to up sale potential clients to higher insurance rates. Hope this helps out anyone who has the same encounter. Response to Pie Insurance reply. I’ve been a licensed contractor since 1995. And I have never had a injury claim on any project I’ve done or been on. Pie Insurance is still not clarifying what is the criteria for contractors to obtain worker’s comp insurance. Or what is their standard conditions. As I said in my original review it’s a bait and switch operation. Look at Pie Insurance website of how they market to contractors. Beware prospective customers

this company is total bait and switch. After filling out their application online and receiving a quote, you later come to find out you have been declined. I have perfect credit, zero claims--EVER , been in biz for more than 30 years. Better to stick with a well known insurance carrier. This company probably wouldn't deliver, should something happen.
