Rejected claim because the tooth had been out before this procedure even though it saved them paying for an extraction. Very disappointed

I have had a claim in for some dental work done in June. It is now mid October and they still have not paid the whole claim they are obligated to pay. Ameritas handles claims for Physicians Mutual Dental. I have emailed Ameritas several times to inquire about the claim and urge them to get it paid. They refuse to do anything. They give me a fishy story that their procedures and circumstances will require what sounds at least another 3 months to finalize the claim. Sounds like January or February maybe. 8-9 months to settle a simple claim is not acceptable to any policyholder or service provider. Ameritas has made clear they don’t care if I object to them taking as long as they like. I also called Physicians Mutual Dental customer service. I thought since Ameritas is slow walking my claim they might help. After all it is their brand being trashed. I was told point blank they were not interested in getting involved. Physician’s Mutual and Ameritas both are a sorry excuse of a company. Don’t do business with them unless you want to risk getting the ridiculous runaround and stalling paying your claim. Believe me, they are bold about rubbing it in your face if you question them. I wonder if they are going bankrupt and that’s why they keep holding on to the money they owe my dentist. They have left me holding the bag. I’m going to have to pay Physicians Mutual’s bill and hope I get it back next year.

It was a terrible experience talking with the male customer service rep on 09.23.26 at 9am. He is not helpful and the conversation was disappointing. I do not understand why company would hire someone who could not provide a level of customer service. I hope Physician Mutual will review this interaction and improve better custom service.

As an agent for PM, I purchased long term care policies for my wife and I about 22 years ago. I also sold PM long term care policies to clients because I believed this was a reputable company. Over the last 22 years, PM has increased our annual premiums 5 fold! We continue to pay because I believe long term care insurance of some form is a vital protection most people should have. But here's the kicker. PM still pays me a 3% commision on the amount they first charged for these policies 22 years ago! They never increased the amount they pay commission on tho they now charge 5x as much. This is completely unethical, in my opinion, and reveals a company that doesn't treat its clients or the agents who bring them clients in a fair and responsible manner. I would say to anyone considering this company to avoid them!

This year I enrolled in Medicare original plan so enrolled in physicals mutual dental and vision plan ! It is a very bad plan . Do not enroll ! Insurance company as good as it pays the claim ! Physicians mutual do not pay to doctors or me! I am waiting to get $150 vision claim for two months . Today I called and lady told me I have to mail the bills ! I already uploaded in my portal 2 months ago ! I need to cancel this after I receive my $150 ! Dentist is charging me because Physicans Mitual didn’t pay them either !
