Hey Kathryn. Thank you for the feedback. If your dog is shaking their head and itching less, that is a great sign. It means the chews are working. Keep in mind, supplements are not a quick fix. Sure we have customers that see benefits immediately but most of our customers see their dogs symptoms gradual decrease over time and then give them half the dose for maintenance. One tricky aspect when it comes to our dogs skin is determining the root cause. The probiotic chew is helpful for when their skin issues are caused my an imbalance of bacteria in your dogs GI Tract that could lead to yeast build up and other skin issues. Sounds like your dog fits those symptoms if the itching is in their ears and paws. However, if the skin issues are not due to the gut and directly with their skin, out Itch Relief chews will be more effective. Some of our customers hedge all bets and order the bundle pack that includes both the itch relief and probiotic chew. In your case I would wait and see as the chews are helping and should continue to improve over time.
