I've had their insurance for over 10 years. Mostly their claims are easy to process and communicating with them is easy. There's frustrations with them as with any insurance company, but overall they do a good job.

All pet insurance seem to have their pros and cons. Petfirst responds quickly to questions and processes claims in a timely manner.

I had all my furry ones covered under this insurance and when they were about to reach age 10 I was told that I should upgrade their policy so that they can get better coverage through their life time plans but they did not tell me is that once I upgraded the policy any illness that they had covered in the previous policy would become a pre existence. So, very deceiving of course now they don't want to pay for anything that they know that my furry ones had before. Don't let them fool you. I just received an answer and still pet first is so misleading. I got a life time plan for my furry ones so that all chronic illness would be covered what they don't tell you is that if your furry one has already suffered any chronic disease before upgrading to the lifetime plan which by the way is very expensive then they don't cover it which I find it to be terrible since it is the same insurance company and they should not make a new policy to make everything a pre existence but just an upgrade.

Pet First Pet Insurance is a great company with a staff that is easy to deal with and a claims process that is simple and uncomplicated. All of my interactions with the company and its representatives, especially their representative Michael, have been highly positive. They are very understanding. I got their insurance after getting a rescue dog that soon began to experience more than your average number of health problems. Naturally, it was a stressful situation. It is a credit to Pet First that I was never given any issues in filing my claims. Honestly, I recommend them to anyone who is looking to safeguard their pet's health.

We have had Pet First insurance for some years now! WE have always been impressed with their speed of processing, the amounts they cover. We will be with this firm as long as we have pets, which means as long as we live!

My dog was sick for days with severe gastritis and had a large vet bill. I submitted the claim last Friday and I looked online today and see that it was approved on Wednesday!
