Personal Capital’s analytic and financial management tools are top-notch. Unfortunately, continued issues with external account syncing make the service unreliable. Nearly 70% of my net worth is held in an E*Trade employee stock plan, but Personal Capital has been unable to successfully sync with these types of accounts for months. If Personal Capital can’t analyze 70% of my net worth, how can I trust its analysis of my total assets? Mint will be my primary financial planning tool for the near future.

Nice app. Helps for long term goal tracking. Doesn't appear to work well if you used local credit unions.. my credit union auto loan balances come across as cash balances. Sent an rmail to their support team. Nothing was fixed.

Very difficult to link financial accounts. Want to use your platform but it is unable to load some of my accounts within the same financial organization. For example, I linked my bank but it wasn't able to pull the loan I have with the same bank. Adding accounts takes a really long time too.

Budgeting needs work. Need to be able to split transactions for budget categories. Also need to be able to add transactions to manual accounts, not just update the balance.

You are making progress, but you're not there yet. Thank you for allowing custom categories for transactions, but not being able to split transactions or hide them from budgeting means I have to stick with other solutions for accurately tracking spending.

There are constant issues logging with institutions especially when it comes to two factor. Can not dynamically track assets which do have daily market feed data metal. can not hide accounts which a person may not wish to be in graphs/reports etc. Personal capital is not bad, but has the potential to be great if they wish to be.

Overall Personal Capital is amazing and is rightly hailed as the mint.com for investors. However... I think they have grown too big too fast and are struggling to keep up with integrating with many investment accounts. I have submitted my request to have Bank of Kansas City added 3 times now and my ticket keeps getting deleted without any action. What's funny us that they already support the same service portal as it is used for many banks...its low hanging fruit that they simply don't have time to resolve which tells me alot. I get that I am not paying for their premium services.... But I certainly could in the future and that decision will be based on the service I receive now. They need to take a step back and focus on the customer. Regards CM

Overall very clear and transparent. It breaks down my mutual funds into the different sectors of stocks they own. Makes your investments very transparent. Also seems to work well. Only bad things are sometimes it take a while to update with my bank and a lot of it is very blanketed in the sense that it's not personalized for you.
