I have tried the free portion of personal capital for 4 months now. I have problems with the download of three accounts, one is Raymond James. Not a small company. Downloads did not work well when I was in Mexico for a few accounts. The Raymond James downloaded maybe twice after being in Mexico. It missed a transaction of dividend payed. There is no way to add the transaction to the account. Which means my income for the year is not correct. Also I have some investments that are real estate loans that pay me interest. I have to manually enter those. Which is not a problem, but when I get interest from that loan, I can not enter the data like a quicken check account that increases the amount in the account. I just can change what is dollar amount in that account. No record of interest transaction. I have liked this set up. But with the errors that has happened. And waiting three months for them to correct the download problems. I am now looking for a better financial analysis. I am retired and using this to watch my investments not to plan for retirement.

The software is great for holding A LOT of information. You can put everything in there. However, it doesn’t let you put % ownership of real estate investment properties (if you own with a partner) and can’t link purchasing activity to Venmo. I also think the interface could be a lot cleaner. It’s takes some getting used to, I’ve had it about a month and I still can’t navigate it as efficiently as I’d like.

I like that I can view all of my accounts here but the UI isn't the best---the separation of accounts isn't very clear and the graphs aren't the most intuitive. I'd also prefer to see my spending in terms of pie charts and bar graphs (in addition to the line graphs, which are helpful sometimes but not a majority of the time.)

Works well for the most part but some of my accounts don't update properly. For example, Dell Financial Services (mydfs.dell.com) doesn't seem to get authenticated properly and therefore won't update.

I really like the PC ap and what they are doing . It’s a great way to see all my assets and liabilities in one place and monitor my investments with a quick glance . I even placed my entire emergency fund (5 figures ) in their new “personal capital cash”” Account so I could take advantage of the 2%+ interest rate they offer - a pretty good deal . The biggest issue I have with them and why they They are getting 3 star review is because Recently my bank did a software upgrade that doesn’t mesh well w/ PC aggregator code and so doesn’t update and gives me errors . PC has confirmed this is a issue on their end on with their code based on conversations both I and my bank officer has had with their client support team . My bank is Bench Mark Bank in Texas And is a fairly large regional bank in our state. The issue has not been resolved since June 18 2019 - and I have been told that no firm time line is in site....it’s very frustrating that they haven’t resolved this sooner - i feel like they aren’t prioritizing me as a client and I am sure I’m not the only one with this problem. I hope PC figures this out soon .

I love the layout and use of the site but really missing "Split Transactions". I had this in Mint and did not realize that Personal Capital did not allow split Transactions. Please work on split transactions as shopping at Walmart could be groceries, cloths, electronics, auto expenses on one receipt. There is no way to have an accurate detailed budget outside of I spent this vs I made this income. Another example would be drug stores like Discount Drug Mart which is a mini grocery store as well. But always label as pharmacy.

I like the platform and how all my finances are "linked up", however, I feel as if there could be more tools to analyze investments and goals. I don't want to pay for any investment services or pay a fee for anyone to "manage" what I have, I feel like I do a great job of doing that myself. I want a platform that has tools to help me move in a direction that I want to go.

Very heavily focused on investment and retirement planning. No ability to split transactions was a deal breaker. I'll be sticking with mint for my tracking needs
