We use Paycom for payroll and HR. It gets the job done, but both the website and the app feel a few years behind. The interface is clunky compared to newer platforms. The bigger issue for us is the lack of API connections. We need it to talk to our other systems and it just doesn't, so we end up working around it. A lot of newer payroll tools offer features Paycom doesn't have. If you're comparing options, look at what you need it to connect to before you commit.

I clocked in late one day because the page would not load so I had to request a punch change. Rather than changing my punch it added a bunch of punches and rows and I still ended with 2 hours short on my check.

Worst onboarding support we have received. Lack of product knowledge across all areas. They tell me watch videos so I can teach myself - not what we pay them for. They also lied about capabilities during sales process. If they had been honest we would not have selected them in the first place. Giving 2 stars because they are open to product feedback and some parts work well - even when others don't. Been using 4 months

I'm frustrated with the closed Paycom system and inability to integrate with basic technology like microsoft calendar or other video interviewing software. The customer service is not consistent. Today I was hung up on during a screen share.

Our original sale deck showed integrations that were not actually capable of. They do not offer a 360 401k integration, they do not have the expense reporting capability we were shared. We also were pitched a stock option benefit, they do not offer this. Additionally historical information does not roll over - job change history, etc.

Paycom was barely decent. Quality customer service did not extend past implementation. Oh, and if you decide to leave them, download every report you might need because they will remove your access to the platform and not give you anything... including W2s.

After 5 years, I would definitely not recommend Paycom. We looked at Paylocity, UKG (Kronos Workforce) and Paycom after a horrible update with Paychex. We ultimately went with Paycom as they would do onsite implementation and appeared to have great features that we wanted. However, now after 5 years we need something that works! We constantly have issues with their Tax services - very incompetent. They promote that they are a "technology company" - but how stupid is it that a Payroll Preview format is completely different from the Completed payroll report! It took 3 years to fix the Time Off accrual report because we have multiple companies and if we moved an employee from 1 company to another the report would pick up the accrual on BOTH COMPANIES. They finally put filters in the fix this. We will be starting to look at other companies as every time there is an update it is getting worse, not better. They FAIL to inform you prior to the update what the changes would be and allow you to opt-out. Not all updates should be able to apply! Be careful! I should have read the signs when we signed up - they promised 1 thing and had to implement something different (at a higher price of course) I'm not completely giving them a 1 score, because we have had great employees that have helped and I do see the potential. I'm growing impatient waiting for them to fix their area's of weakness and it is making the decision (although very complicated for us) to leave much easier!

After dealing with Paycom over the last few years, and especially the last few weeks, all I can say is what a joke! If they answer the phone, professionalism is lacking and their response time on issues is slower than a snail's pace. My client is not tech savvy, so she is always at a loss trying to utilize their system, and no one there seems to care. They do not clearly communicate whether it’s regarding payroll reports, processes, or updates on ongoing issues. It's like they do not get the "big picture" and they have no idea of what process they are supporting. Most of the time you get the feeling you are dealing with a bunch of college kids just there to make a buck. However, I have had the pleasure of working with a couple of very competent individuals over the years. They either move on or they were just filling in for one of the forever vacationing or unavailable reps that unfortunately seem to be assigned to my client. Needless to say, building a rapport is nonexistent! Having to explain and reexplain every issue because you are just passed around from one rep to another is tiring and discouraging! Paycom's service itself seems to be fairly user friendly to me but I have worked with a lot of providers. I would not recommend this service for smaller businesses that may require more guidance and/or assistance. Unfortunately, clients are often on their own if they have questions or concerns because Paycom's customer service does not respond timely or provide solutions clearly or in a manner fostering the client’s confidence in their response. Paycom may be a joke, but they are no laughing matter if you’re one of their lesser valued clients!
