I think one way to improve is through communication. I was not notified that my sample was received by Paw Print nor was I notified when my results were ready. I received a survey and decided to log onto the website and then found my results. I thought the process went pretty fast but maybe results were even ready sooner and I did not know it. Thank you.

PawPrints has a good reputation but I don't want to use them because they're so incredibly expensive. i would've liked to order more color tests but they just charge so much money for every thing they do. I use embark every change I get

I only gave 3 stars because we sent in our sample to be tested and waited the full time to get the results to then be told the sample wasn't viable we needed to do another one. It took a long time to get our results. I feel like they would have known sooner the sample wasn't viable. Thank you!

Thank you for your review. Sometimes we can tell when we extract the DNA that we don't have enough sample to complete testing. But other times, we have enough DNA but the results are not reliable, indicating that the sample was perhaps compromised in some fashion. Because we test your samples twice for every test that you order, we get two results. Those two results (genotypes) must match before we can report your results. If they do not match, which is not discovered until the end of the process, then we may reach out for a new sample because, again, this may indicate some sort of contamination of the sample prior to DNA extraction. Because we know that you use this testing information to make important breeding decisions, we are cautious and will request a new sample in these situations. It is important that you can rely on your results to make these decisions. Our high standards is why most breeders choose Paw Print Genetics. Thank you for your understanding.

I would prefer new results be emailed directly rather than having to log in to check them. I asked for a rush on the testing (only 2 tests ordered) and it still took over a week.

Generally, this is the best service for genetic panels. In the past, I’ve received calls about my order and discussed with a geneticist that can explain to me any questions I’ve had. All of my interactions with the company have been wonderful and easy except for this last order of mine. I placed an order, they told me they had enough sample on file to complete it and I waited two weeks before I called. Once I called, they said, “oh, we sent you an email.. and called you!” Nope, I check every single one from paw prints and I had no communication about my order from them. They then inform me that they didn’t have enough to test my dogs and needed swabs. They didn’t send out a swab kit, instead told me to go to the store and buy a certain kind of swab and send it in. I was NOT happy that I didn’t have proper communication about this test I was trying to complete within a quick timeline. I spend thousands at this company every year-I really hope this is a one off because I do love going through PPG and I don’t want this to continue to happen. The part that frustrated me was that there was no apology, no compensation or rushing of my order. Paw prints, I hope this isn’t how things will continue to be. I pay a lot of money to get subpar service and attitude with your customer service representatives.
