Microgen is not so accurate any more and at $259 it needs to be
Microgen was more accurate when in Orlando. My dr has been monitoring the same bug for two years and I had 4 negative Microgen’s in a row. . Once in El Paso I have gotten for level 2 Klebsiella granulomatis more than once —an std from Africa and exotic locations I’ve never been. The bacteria can’t live in the bladder and is shed into the urine from huge red raw lesions on the vulva. I’m 72 and have been celibate for 20 years and do not have this disease. Given the test is $259 it was a total waste. My urologist said to ignore the test and that he has had other patients with the same insane result. He no longer wants me to use Microgen as test results have been so off. Microgen should at least send a free kit to retest.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding the identification of Klebsiella granulomatis. Klebsiella granulomatis and Klebsiella pneumoniae are two organisms that are closely related and often indistinguishable across the sequenced regions used in standard NGS workflows, and we have on rare occasions, observed similar results in previous cases. We are experienced with the detection of this species and have identified Klebsiella Granulomatis in over 1500 samples to date. That said, we take every report seriously and are committed to delivering the most accurate and meaningful results possible. We would be happy to reprocess your sample at no additional cost and are available to discuss the findings directly with you and your physician to ensure full clarity and confidence in the interpretation. Please reach out to our support team [email protected] to coordinate the reanalysis or to schedule a discussion with our scientific team. We would also like to share that MicroGenDX has not moved from it's locations in Orlando or Lubbock. Our Customer Service and corporate offices have always been Orlando based, and while our Lab did move to a new, larger facility is still based in Lubbock, as it always has been. Thank You!
